Well, Seattle could really use him. Their safeties suck.

Myron Rolle is hurting himself today.

Mays OFFICIAL 40 time: 4.43. Still fastest of the day.

Some of the official times have been way off of the unofficial times this year.

What if Seattle went:

1) Berry (Chiefs take Okung)
2) Mays

Carrol connection as well. I'm not sure he'll be there at 12-13 though. And I don't think they'll take him at 6.

Without a doubt.

Same for Tebow.

If someone is coming from a Pro System (Stafford) and doesn't throw, it's disappointing, but you already know he can operate from under center.

If a guy has questionable arm strength or schematic questions and he doesn't throw, it's a huge red flag.

And I wouldn't just call it a lack of competitiveness, I'd call it cowardice.

If it was going to possibly cost you millions of dollars I bet you would think differently. You're not in his shoes.

I'd buy a Seahawks hat?

They'd be amazing in their secondary with Trufant. 1 more stud corner and I think it'd be the best secondary in the league in no time.

I'm thinking that if Carroll really wants Mays, he'll want to pick before Oakland. There should still be an OT available at 12.

I'm wondering if Carroll will shy away from USC players to try to avoid "picking from the tree" criticisms or if he will go heavy on them since they are familiar.

I think he'll jump all over them if they fit what he's trying to do. They already have some experience in it.

Flopnuts, did you watch any of the combine yesterday? There was a DE from Washington with an unpronounceable last name that I thought looked pretty sharp, especially in the LB drills. Unfortunately, through most of the drills (except the LB, of course), he was on right after Suh, so the commentators never mentioned him because they were so busy slobbering over Suh.

What do you know about your Husky DE? Could he be a late round rushbacker?

Aside from his 40, what else has he done to hurt himself?

Thoughts on Group 2:

Taylor Mays - Exceptional combine day, as expected. Big, fast. Looked a fraction slower when changing direction but was smooth in transitions. I expect someone to take him in the top-15.

Patrick Robinson - Good speed, great fluidity and change of direction speed. #2 CB behind Haden, IMO.

Myron Rolle - Is what I thought he was - a mid-round prospect. I wouldn't take him earlier than the 4th, if then. Ran a slow time, showed ok fluidity but not great.

Earl Thomas - Good speed, very good transitions, 'quick'. #2 or #3 safety, depends if you want a SS (Mays) or FS (Thomas). Berry is #1.

Major Wright - Great speed, very good transitions and excellent ball skills. Starts and stops on a dime. I don't think he lasts past the 3rd round. If we can't get Berry he would be a very nice consolation prize at FS.

Wasn't the most fluid in turning his hips and making forward/backward transitions.

No one is really making that argument.

However, there have been some dumbasses claiming that Earl Thomas >> Mays.

FWIW, I still think Mays has every bit the career that Berry does, but he'll make a different kind of impact.

You'd have to be a moron to think Thomas won't be a very good player in this league.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 03-02-2010 01:40 PM

haha...Berry will be an All-pro and Mays will just be DOING WHAT HE'S ASKED TO DO!!!!!!!! It'll be like Gholston winning game balls all over again
