I'm making this one post and then going to bed.
Trent Green once stood up to Paul Tagliabue, who mocked his defense and HIS team, in public. Now Tagliabue was not without reason. That was some stinky stinky reerun diarrhea shit defense, but that didn't matter. Trent defended them anyway, and said, "You know what could have won that game? If the offense had scored more points." He said, "Hey, now... football is a team sport" to defend his own fellow players. That was selfless, noble, and boy did it ever demonstrate REAL leadership.
Cassel uses the same "football is a team sport" excuse/answer. The very same one. The difference there is Cassel uses it to cover HIS OWN ****ING ASS and not the asses of his teammates. He sucks so much shit that when he uses that line he brings his teammates down to his shitty ****ing level. No wonder the media thinks the Chiefs suck so bad. They think the entire team is a bunch of Matt Cassels.
Why should Cassel make such large image-degrading sacrifices in order to keep something as worthless as mere criticism off the backs of his teammates? Why does that shit matter? Because that's what real leaders do. True leaders have done this for their troops/players/employees/cyborgs throughout history. History is rife with noble examples of this sort.
Matt Cassel has never done this in spite of the many MANY opportunities that came his way. He's a cowardly pussy on the field and a cowardly pussy in front of a microphone. But hey, he helps out in the community.
Like I said, if he's so damn good as a charity worker, give him KC Wolf's job. Clearly he's far more successful at that shit than he is at winning playoff games.
Good night. We will continue this conversation another time.
