When was the last time the Royals had a SP who came out in the first inning, throws 30 pitches and gives up 2 runs and doesn't fold, but goes on to pitch lights out for 6 innings?

Yeah, I think he experiments with pitches early to see what works, but once he finds out, he's damn near unhittable.
