Of course, that doesn't include all of the games against the Avalanche, as they go for the season sweep on Saturday, having outscored them 13-5 so far this year. :(

Tarasenko being hurt has had an impact on the O in a big way.

The real question is, though, how far can Varly carry the Avs?

I think the Avs have a good chance against Chicago, though it'll be tough if Duchene doesn't get back for that series at all. I'll give the Avs a 40% chance of coming out of that series alive.

The problem is, the Avs would play the Blues (or in theory one of the wildcards) for the next series no matter what, and I don't think anyone will be surprised I'm not optimistic about our chances against St. Louis. I'd just hope we could make it an entertaining series and take it to 6 games or so. I'll go with 10% there, though that obviously changes if the Blues somehow get upset in Round 1.

And I'll hold off on having an opinion past that.

Ovi has been criticized from his coach (and others) for quitting on his team lately.

Even if the Avs get swept in the playoffs, this season has been incredible. Man, this team is fun to watch.

Yeah, they picked up from 2 seasons ago. The Blackhawks have a habit of flipping on and off the switch and if they mail it in like they did for a few games against the Wild last year, the Avalanche can definitely take advantage.

I noticed the, uh, unfortunate slogan....

The Avs really need to hire an ad agency. They've gotten way better this year, but they're still really bad.

Nice! Are you coming out specifically for the game, or in town for something else?

I still feel like the Avs are getting by on a little luck and a lot of great goaltending, so I'm not optimistic about their chances there (especially coming off of a tough game on Saturday in St. Louis). But then, I haven't thought they were going to win these last few without Duchene, and they keep on finding a way to win.

That Chicago/Colorado series looks to be one hell of a series. The teams are fairly similar, though the Blackhawks have the recent playoff experience and success. But this season Colorado has out played them head to head.

Just picked up tickets to home games 1 and 4 (if it happens) of that series. Should be a lot of fun, though I'm pretty nervous about the Avs' ability to keep up if Duchene's still hurt.

Those will be the best two, opening night of the playoffs and game 7 if it happens. Awesome. Damn the Preds for making me miss live playoff hockey again. But as bad as it seems we have it better then others.
