Lets be honest. I loved BFLOW as much as anyone but he's had his best years. He was great and very aggressive early in his career but now a days the receivers are getting bigger and faster and he's not growing and his body is breaking down. His kness are pretty much shot, he's lost a step and isn't as aggressive as he once was. And on top of that the money was ridiculous. Father time is catching up with him at an alarming pace and the game is leaving him behind unfortunately. I would have loved if they could have reworked his deal but I doubt that he would, and doubt that we even wanted to.

Flowers got handed by big receivers outside, and was constantly trailing in the slot in a press man scheme.

People insist he's not a good fit because a year of game tapes last year show that he wasn't. He's not worth that price tag to the current Chiefs.

Yuck. I'm not okay with this. I think Flowers was a target to be cut next year, but we got a lot weaker at CB and I don't feel that confident in Parker or Gaines or Owens to backfill nearly as well. I don't at all understand why we didn't get trade value out of him.

But oh well… I don't think we were going to compete this year anyway, and Flowers was a target for a massive pay cut soon anyway, so it's not the end of the world. Him being a nickel corner given fit with Sutton's scheme, he was definitely overpaid.

Plus, even if we didn't get trade comp… Albert and Flowers are both probably going to get us a 3rd round comp pick. So we did essentially get draft picks out of them.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I don't think you get credit for or against for Post June 1, transactions as far as comp picks go.

He's a good player and guy but didn't fit in with Sutton's scheme and didn't play well at all last season while making a pretty outrageous wage for a demoted undersized Nickel corner. Good luck to him with his next team.

How did he fix the safety position?

Addition by subtraction to start. Not bringing back Lewis and Demps.
Extending Abdullah and Commings coming back from injury. The FA rookie Sorensen.

And Dorsey addressed that.

Tried to.

The jury is most certainly still out on whether or not Walker, Bailey, Catapano and Ford can be effective rushers on a consistent basis.

to rebuild, you would have had to have built.

Oh wait, thats right, they got a wild card spot, its all good

OldSchool 06-13-2014 07:50 PM

We released a corner who gave up a 66.7 completion percentage when thrown at, QB rating of 103, over 800 yards, and 4 TDs.

Ohhhh nooooo, the sky is falling. The team is lost! We are rebuilding! ROFL

This tweet is stupid, lol. As if Flowers was ever capable of covering Thomas in this scheme. He couldn't even handle shutting down Welker.

Exactly. Peyton will shred regardless of the presence of Flowers.

I am so confused by this "Flowers was too small" and "Dorsey likes bigger CB's"....Flowers 5'11'' ....Owens 5'9''

Dragonocho 06-13-2014 08:16 PM

Meh. He was good for years 2 and 3 and fell off pretty quickly, when we let Carr go to Dallas and resigned him I thought we made a mistake. At the time I thought it was letting Carr go, but they both are past their best years, so meh. Overpriced player on a non- guaranteed contract, someone will overpay for his game tape.

Dorsey sucked balls in KC and really hasn't done squat at all to justify his draft position. He was a total bust. I get tired of people still acting like he was worth a shit.

5'11"? In what universe? Flowers is 5'9" with 4.55 speed and a 30" vertical.

I understand why people are gushing from their vagina over losing players that have been a part of so many championship teams.....

Wait, what?

Get a grip, gentlemen.

Hard to get a grip around NOTHING and that's what we got for him. IF the Chiefs were going to release him WHY did they wait till now and not use his $$$$ to re-sign / sign players? This off season has been one of the all time most pathetic in Chiefs history, and that says a lot. This is just par for the course.
