Just watched the red n gold recap of that game last night. believe 2 of those 3 sacks came from the left side.

edit: should have said 2 of 3 over the LT

I'm not really sure, but the Chargers gave him an extension, so he can't be THAT bad.

Just hyperbole.

If Berry and Poe want Cleveland Browns money...they can go get it elsewhere.

Both are overrated.

What exactly is Cleveland Browns money? The Browns have become frugal. Hence why the Chiefs have Schwartz and the Falcons have Mack.

I'm guessing this was because of the Bowe situation. These Browns are much smarter I believe.

What person that's offered $15 million guaranteed turns it down for $12 million over two years because they believe a better offer will come two years later at age 29?

A bird in the hand, man.

Players sign franchise tags all the time. They're risking everything doing it, but they do it anyway. I don't see why a guy like Howard couldn't think he'd be able to further establish himself as worthy of a larger contract in his semi-prime years.

Btw, when you were on a posting hiatus, what was the reasoning? Was the Cassel era an era that made you become apathetic? Man...that era...I'll never forget it. But you did take a break from posting for a couple years, then came back, right??

What? What is someone "risking" by signing a franchise tag? What is Kirk Cousins "risking" by being paid $19 million this year?

There are any number of things that could happen to an NFL player's body during two seasons of play. Age 29 has recently become a time when players are retiring, not receiving huge third contracts.

I never really went on a hiatus because I wasn't a frequent poster till this regime came along. When Reid and Dorsey were brought in I immediately bought in (although I almost went right back to being apathetic after the Smith trade).

Players bet on themselves all the time to get a bigger deal, but it's normally done instead of signing an extension and playing out the deal their currently on (HOuston and Hudson come to mind quickly).

Career-ending injury.

Yet you think that Howard was "smart" by betting on himself at age 29?

Pretzel logic.

O.city 07-29-2016 09:59 AM

I could see him taking a shorter deal with the chiefs for similar money, playing 2 more years in a system he knows and attempt to put up big numbers in order to leverage that to a bigger payday.

Guys are retiring earlier these days, but some are also playing longer.
