how 'bout the holding call on Wylie while the defender literally has a handful of his face mask? I mean, what the hell was that?

petegz28 01-02-2022 05:12 PM

I mean right here, not only is it not DPI, the WR turned the opposite way of which the ball was thrown....I mean there is multiple levels of fail in just this one bs call

Some respect to Burrows for straight up admitting it. He doesn't appear to be a bitch.

Yeah, that was a Brady call... not catchable, but still get the call.

That was complete bullshit. Receiver was bailed out for running the wrong route.

treeguy27 01-02-2022 05:18 PM

I don't think there's any conspiracy by the NFL to influence outcomes. That's too big of a secret to be kept secret. I do however believe there are points of emphasis and team's tendencies that are discussed leading up to games. That can lead to refs being overly aggressive on certain things. (grabby DB's)

Most times, including today, it comes down to Ref's just being bad at their job and being influenced by home crowds.

Very well stated, totally spot on.

I don't want the league to be corrupt. I've loved it since I was old enough to remember as most of us have. However, I feel insulted they would present this game to me and say "Here, this is a legit pro football contest. The best team will win. Spend 3.5 hours watching it!"

To casual fans on a nationwide scale just glancing at the game in between shoving their faces and pounding Coors Light and texting their buddies about fantasy scores, they can get away with it. To anyone who actually cares about this sport and it's integrity, that was absolutely insulting. Quite frankly, I'd be saying the same thing if we'd won a game in that fashion.

Also, this whole "the refs are just incompetent" argument is really getting old. When it is clearly benefiting one team the entire game, that is not goddamn incompetence. And I've seen it over and over and over again. The signs are always the same and it follows the same script every single time. It's become so obvious when it occurs I have no idea why I don't just turn the game off. I almost did on the Pringle return and totally wish I had. I told myself they were just trying to keep it close, not actually hand it to Cincy. I was wrong.

Whatever, it's over and done with. I'll take the league for what it is and anyone who takes it at face value, that's your right to do so. Bottom line is that barring a miracle, our path to the Super Bowl just got a lot rougher.

:bravo:

Generally, bad referring evens out over the course of a game. But statically, there will be games where the bad calls end up going more against one team than the other. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the bad calls hit them way more than Cin and were the factor that tipped the game.

The good thing is that we could end up with a post-season rematch, with a different set of refs and in Arrowhead. That would be a good time to get our revenge and prove who is the better team.

Most times, those instances are kinda corrected through make up calls. I didn't see anything like that today. There was no attempt to be impartial in any way today.

ping2000 01-02-2022 05:23 PM

This crew was incompetent and biased and should be fined and banned from any playoff games. Complete ****ing garbage crew.

Why did we have this crew today?
