But I'll give Shenault credit that he has really good lower body strength and balance and he was used tons near the LOS in Jacksonville the first 2 years, but his 1st down conversion rate was one of the worst in the NFL last year which just tells me he's not a move the sticks kind of guy. I just don't find Shenault to be unique at all personally.

I'd take Treylon Burks all day over him, and I didn't even like Burks that much going pro.

I would have been fine with Burks in the 2nd but didn't see him as a 1st round talent.

I wouldn't have taken Shenault in the first round either - maybe the 2nd, definitely the 3rd. Now seeing that half his rookie deal has been burned, I think a 4th is the absolute ceiling in terms of value and ultimately even then only because some team ahead of us in the draft order would give a 5th. I could probably tolerate that.

I see him being far more athletic and far more powerful than Landry. Not as consistent and definitely not as polished. But between the 2, I take Shenault's upside over Landry without blinking.

Honestly I don't see the comparison - they don't strike me as similar players at all.

Production is super similar on a per catch basis, Style of play, underneath route running, slow, strong lower half, their catch rate is just a couple percentage points difference. All those things. Production being the main point.

Would have taken either of those guys over Cook. That was a bad pick.

Cook is going to maul on defense. QB's who scramble better have their head on a swivel...

You know, at one time I was all about getting Shenault in here. But now, I'm perfectly fine that we didn't make a trade for him. I have THAT much confidence in Mahomes with this new set of receivers he has (tight ends and wideouts both).

Agree with you

He's a slow slot WR. Not much use for him here.

Sky is better…

Looks like he won’t be a Chuef so he can fade away into the lost dreams of KC fans like Corey Dillon, Hugh Douglas and other players who didn’t become Chuefs and were forgotten forever. Amen.

smithandrew051 08-29-2022 03:50 PM

He could’ve been a hall of famer but now he sucks

Sassy Squatch 08-29-2022 03:53 PM

Don't discount what Laviska Shenault can do on the Panthers if Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Robbie Anderson, Terrace Marshall, Rashard Higgins and Chuba Hubbard are ever forced to miss some game action

He's a sports journalist for the Florida Times-Union, so I'm guessing he probably has a source. I guess Twitter is the new end-all-be-all for credible sources though.

Once upon a time I thought he would be a decent compliment to tyreek. It’s crazy how fast things change. I thought he could be a poor man’s Sammy Watkins.
