Bray with a well placed pass. Bellamy well covered by Conroy Black. Bray puts it only where Bellamy can get it. Bellamy climbs the ladder. TJ Carpenter@TJCarpenterWHB2m I'll say this, Bray can make throws the other QBs can't. Smith and Daniel aren't placing the ball with strength like Bray. #Chiefs Arrowhead Pride@ArrowheadPride2m Bray seems to attempt passes other Chiefs QBs don't, which has been a good and bad thing at times |

It will be another excuse to draft Oline with our first ****ing pick. We just can't ****ing win the draft a quarterback battle. |

Baldwin is killing me. Jesus Christ ****head....put it together.

Sounds like Demetrius Harris is catching pretty much everything that Bray (and anyone else) is throwing in his direction. Cut Baldwin's stone hands and give this kid a go. The dude is a former hoops player; 6'7" and runs a 4.57 forty. Bowe runs a 4.51 forty. I know they are looking at Harris as a possible TE, but he and Bowe could be beasting it as WRs in this offense. I mean, how does a 5'11" CB cover a 6'7" reciever with sticky hands?

It sounds like Bray was doing good again today. I hope he can transition that to the preseason games and keep improving.

I somehow missed that Andre Reed joined the Chiefs' coaching staff. Musta been asleep that day.

I too like the fact that Alex is trying to make passes. Im gonna wait till week one. The preseason matters not at all to me. I don't expect Alex to play much. I really want to see Kelce, Davis, and Bray!! |

We're what... 0/12,342 for drafting interior defensive line/3-4 DEs in the past 10 years? And how many of them have been 1st rounders? I don't care how bad the coaching or the situation is. We should have hit on ONE of those ****ing picks by now. It better ****ing be Poe. |

I was at camp (it's a few minutes from my house) and I have to say the gloom and doom is exaggerated.
Smith is having timing problems. The D is ahead of the O. Reid is experimenting. Bray does look good, but some of his reads are bad. All of this is standard fare, I think, for all of the newness. Also, don't judge the team based as tweets. It's hot and nobody has the energy to tweet ordinary and boringly successful plays. |

One thing at camp that was really funny today -- some guy in an authentic Stanzi jersey kept loudly criticizing every QB pass other than Stanzi's.
Just a reminder that we all have QB bias. |

*****OFFICIAL 2013 Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp Thread*****
Went today. My brief and humble thoughts...
I miss River Falls. Much easier to get around. Much better sight lines. Better to see the whole of the action without moving around a ton. That said... Standouts: Really hard to tell, as it was rarely 1s vs 1s, but, Albert Hudson Charles Hemingway Poe and Powe Houston D Johnson Sean smith Edgar Jones DeVito Not bad, but not great T Jax Chavis Schwartz Toribio Wylie Fisher Had a bad day; Alex Smith Baldwin Kush (awful) I wasn't terribly impressed with Knile Davis. Thought he played soft. I see the intrigue with Bray. Looks the part. Amazing arm. Smith was bad, even against air. I refuse to bitch and moan about him. There's enough of that on the board, and it's boring as hell. Plus, what's done is done. Obviously it's just one day... But he looked BAD. Kelce had a rough morning. Missed a couple, and fumbled during two-minute. Wylie looks real good. Quick and fast. Lets hope he can stay out of the tub. A lot more motion and shifts than we've seen, maybe since the Vermiel days. Not a ton of yelling by the coaches. Lots of teaching. But it's still very disciplined. I think they have the respect of the players, and don't have to peel paint to keep it. I really like the little things they are working on, that I never really saw in previous camps. Hand placement and replacement. Hip movement to beat blocks. Alignment. Playing vs pulls, traps and doubles. Very intentional drills, rather than busywork that I feel I used to see. To expand, what I mean is, in the river falls days, you'd see the lines hit the hell out of the sleds. While that's important, that type of movement is only part of what builds skills on the line. They hit the sleds today, but also then worked on those other things I mentioned, which will make them (hopefully) better at shedding blocks and being part of the play. The same thing was happening Offensively. Just very intentional drills focused on body movements they'll actually use rather than pushing a sled 20 yards. |
But DJ said Bray didn't look the part...bad mechanics, etc...

If Eric Fisher doesn't get his shit together and show his worth as a 1.1 pick or even fairly does a decent job this year, then Brandon Albert price tag goes up. Brandon Albert is going be sitting pretty at the bank next spring. His worth will go up if Fisher isn't anything the Chiefs were hoping for.

Fisher will be fine, but it's possible he gets drafted to be a starting LT, gets set in at RT for a few years like Oher or Bulaga, and just never makes the switch back. And frankly, I'd be fine with that. At least that would mean we'd be keeping Albert. Bulaga is switching to LT this year for the Packers. We'll see how he does. If his play during his rookie year was any sign for us, though, it means Fisher may need some time to struggle and figure things out. Again, usually there's nothing wrong with that, but when you draft a position like RT at 1.1, the expectations are way above the norm, even for most high-profile 1st round OTs. |
