Yeah that’s the big caveat there.

I think if I had to place a bet, we end up trading a 2022 draft pick (maybe not a 1, but in the first few rounds) to add a starting caliber player after the draft.

That is unless they do ultimately sign these guys like Okung, Ingram, etc. who could take the pressure off of the rookie class.

We need OL AND more playmakers. They’re not mutually exclusive.

I agree, the post you quoted used the word biggest, as in bigger than all others. I am pretty much quibbling, sorry.

Not sure if you are a Times Ours listener, but they were having a pretty interesting discussion about the roster now vs the roster on opening day last season, vs the average roster for last season. Had some interesting discussions about the holes on the roster/immediate needs.

Having thought about it a lot the last couple of days, when you factor in the Taco Charlton injury and how little Sammy was available last year, DE/receiver as it stands now isn't any worse than last years actual roster. They need to get better in both of these areas, but at least they are already roughly back to what they had last year.

O line is definitely worse than what they had last year, until at least one of the two giant question marks is penciled in with a viable starter.

RunKC 03-27-2021 09:48 AM

If they draft Walker Little I think they redshirt him. It would likely be Okung with a Niang/Remmers fallback plan when Okung gets hurt. Just don’t see Andy trusting Little as a rookie after he hasn’t played in 2 years.

Radunz has a smaller frame. He’s tall but doesn’t seem to fit that big mold Andy likes.

I know it’s cliche bc it’s Andy, but I think Brady Christensen is the sleeper pick. Of course that could mean a trade down from 31 but still. That guy looks like a really good fit here

The Franchise 03-27-2021 10:12 AM

Radunz has a small frame but Christensen doesn’t?

Radunz - 6’5, 306 lbs

Christinsen - 6’6”, 300 lbs

See I disagree. OL is roughy equal to last year. Yeah we have a hole at LT and Niamg is an unknown but Thuney is better than anybody on last year’s line by a wide, wide margin. The interior of the offense, if they re-sign Reiter, is enough better than last year’s to counter the issues at tackle, especially since we know SOMEBODY, whether a vet or rookie, will eventually man that spot.

Rashod Bateman still is a really fun pick to me at 31. Might be the best WR we can get for this team in 2021 realistically.

I’m also excited to see Khalen Saunders again. I was hoping he would break out last year but got unlucky with an early injury.

I doubt we are going to sign anyone else at TE. We tendered Keiser and signed Blake Bell back. We also have a couple of who's in Culkin and Baylis. And as much as they flip Fortson back and forth from TE to WR and back to TE and then back to WR who knows with that guy.

The Thuney contract is sizable in comparison to those others.

We ain’t getting jack and if we do it will be something like a 7th round pick

Yes. My draft crush. He would improve our offense so much. Exactly what we've been lacking at X. A bigger, taller, lengthier & physical WR that can make contested catches. Would immediately improve RZ offense & the short and intermediate game and would finally give Pat someone to throw it up to on the outside.

But I have a bad feeling someone's gunna fall in love with him in the 20's and snatch him up before we get a chance.

He's not going to make it to 31. He's emerging in many mocks as the 4th WR off the board.

I'm just now starting to watch these prospects. I've watched thus far (in order):

Terrace Marshall
Ja'Marr Chase
Jaylen Waddle
DeVonta Smith
Kadarius Toney
Rashod Bateman

And while they're all good looking players in their own way, Bateman absolutely jumps off the screen for me. The whole time i was watching him i wondered, "how big is this guy". Once i looked up his size, i was even more impressed. I look forward to REALLY watching these guys over and over here soon and reading up on them. All ive seen thus far are highlight reels.

My early impressions though, Ja'Marr might be the most sure thing (he looks like a pro already), but Bateman just ooozes talent. A natural. Reminds me a lot of OBJ.

So the Colts have signed a couple replacement level LT's, which should atleast get them some flexibility in the draft to not have to force it.

It kinda makes me think the Chiefs have something bigger in mind than just sitting at 31.

Just looking at the running backs still out there and when I looked up Todd Gurley I couldn't believe he's still only 26 years old!!. Anyway we've taken a veteran in the last two years (Shady and Bell) so if Gurley is down to play on a modest one year deal why not bring him to KC? He's brilliant in goal line situations, can pass protect and run routes/catch the ball. Last year he got 842 total yards and nine td's. Yes, he's not the monster he was two years ago (one of the best backs I've seen tbh) but he was pretty good for the Falcons last year so him sharing the rock with Ceh could be good for us I think.

Atlanta were tanking so didn't use him like they did earlier in the year. The idea would be to use him in short yard situations and on the goal line...nine td's for a poor team was impressive imo.

No, Gurley is done.

you want every running back. It's ridiculous.

how'd Bell work out?

And now you want Gurley.

Sure, if it was 2018.

Now?

Hard ****ing pass.

I'm merely going on TRENDS. Veach is not gonna go into the season with only Ceh and Williams as viable options...so he's either gonna sign a vet or draft one...much to your annoyance of course ROFL. Gurley's stats last season were good no matter how you wanna spin it..as a rotational guy how could he go wrong here? Bring him in for a medical and if things are Ok he'd be well worth a one year deal imo.

I'm sure we will draft a guy or bring in a FA or UDFA.

If you'll remember, my argument was that the problem with our running game was the offensive line, and that it's not been the same since Morse got hurt. So no, I didn't want to take a RB early because I didn't think it was going to make a big difference with shit run blocking. We took one #32, and that's cool, but it didn't really do all that much for us did it?

Now I expect we'll continue to work on the line, and I'm sure Clyde will have a great season next year.

But I'll pass on the has-been pile. I'd rather take a flier on a later round guy, maybe small school, something like that.

I love Trey Sermon. Think he's the 2nd best RB in this class. If he dropped into the 4th I'd pull the trigger.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed seventh-year LB Damien Wilson, the club announced today.

Wilson, 6-0, 243, has spent the last two seasons (2019-20) with Kansas City after playing his first four seasons (2015-18) with Dallas, where he was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. His career totals include 93 games played (51 starts), 249 tackles, 4.0 sacks and three forced fumbles. In 2020, Wilson recorded 70 tackles in 13 games (all starts) with the Chiefs. Wilson started all 16 games for the first time in his career in 2019 and totaled a career-high 81 tackles (52 solo) and one forced fumble. He recorded 19 tackles in three postseason games in 2019, including four tackles in the Chiefs victory in Super Bowl LIV.

Wilson attended the University of Minnesota from 2013-14 after beginning his college career at Alcorn State. In 26 games (24 starts) for the Gophers, he posted 197 tackles and 5.0 sacks, including a team-leading 119 tackles as a senior. In 2014, Wilson led Minnesota in tackles (119), tackles for loss (4.5) and sacks (4.0) en route to First Team All Big-Ten honors.

Wilson is originally from Gloster, Miss. and attended Amite County High School in Liberty, Miss.

The 2nd best player at any position aside from P/K is not going to be there in the 4th. Dafuq.

I really like Wilson, but I get the move.

Clearly he's not the consensus 2nd best RB, he's MahomesMagic RB crush in the draft.

A storyline to watch: The #Bears have been discussing a trade involving WR Anthony Miller with a number of teams, sources. The former 2nd round pick could be on the move. Stay tuned…

Would you give up 2nd round pick?

O.city 04-07-2021 02:01 PM

They're not even going to ask for a 2nd, they know they won't get that.
