I mean, Skip Bayless also said Thuney wasn't very good because apparently there's a history of Patriots OL leaving the team in free agency and not being good elsewhere.
So there you have it, Virus. You've got Skip Bayless on your side about Joe Thuney. Congratulations. Anything else you want to bring up? Are you also concerned that Tim Tebow will make Jacksonville into a contender against KC? You've got Thkyuuip on your side... |

I never claimed a couple randos' opinions were law, but you combine that with the track record of Patriots FAs not really matching their production in NE as well as just being in a new city, new organization, new team, new scheme, etc. There is always a chance a guy doesn't pan out. |

You ain't getting the ball if your QB is a RB, Sammy. Be prepared for very similar pedestrian-type numbers. |
Meh, those Watkins comments are nothing.

Do we think Reid is going to keep Niang at RT when Remmers comes back?
Trey Smith I think has just about secured the starting spot. He only needs to demonstrate consistency throughout the rest of the preseason, stay healthy, and he's got it. I'm not sure Niang has shown enough to not give the job back to Remmers. And again, there's nothing wrong with that for now, particularly if that's who Reid trusts to do the best job in the short term. |

As far as I am aware, we have yet to see Orlando Brown catch a Tackle Eligible pass.
So there's that. FAX |

Von + Shelby Harris + Dremont Jones + Bradley Chubb is about as good as it gets in the NFL right now. |
Jones Vs Thuney I thought pretty much a draw. One jones got around and Thuney held. Once beat you cheat. The second Jones got push but didn't get free. Pat easily finds a lane and gets the ball away. My 2 cents anyway.
|
Also meant to mention Thuney gets away with that hold in NE maybe not in KC.

What exactly is Orlando Brown going to learn in 600 snaps that he didn't in 400? I mean, really.

Poor Sammy.
He's going to spend the season watching the ball fly over his head, bounce off the dirt, or sail 10-yards beyond his catch range. It's going to be quite the show. FAX |

Trey Smith is the only one that has been able to block Jones so far. An early favorite for Defensive Player of the Year- the way he is tearing it up.

But seriously, he got signed so he can be a down field blocker for Lamar and no reason to think he won't be good at it. |
Early in the year, the DL always has an advantage over OL. OL is reactionary. Wait a couple of weeks as the OL improves conditioning, gets into game form, and starts recognizing what the DL is doing. This happens every year.

Can we bring in some of these shot putters for a look? Sheesh, what beasts.

I would just like to say, half a day too late, that I am not concerned about Thuney.
Guy is a far better version of Ryan Lilja. He's technique and chemistry and brains. That won't stand out in camp while things are gelling, it won't stand out in one-on-ones against Chris Jones, and it may not emerge for the first month of the season. But he's a homerun. |

I can't remember his name or I'd post him here. Dude is an absolute unit. |

Long-time lurker - enjoyed the thread. Have been keeping up quite a bit this year with camp and to me the surprises have been Willie Gay and Trey Smith. Was thinking - who would you rather have breakout (Sneed type seasons) out of those two?
Don’t think Chiefs have gotten great LB play since Spags got here. Having Gay step up would give them a star at all 3 levels at a position that is likely to make more splash plays. On the other hand, I don’t know how you stop the offense if they have elite interior line play and can run the ball at a much more efficient clip. Thoughts? |

And to be fair, when he was in the field he did beat dudes. Richard Sherman’s jock is still MIA. And in fairness if he miraculously stays healthy he’s going to be productive. You know teams will dare Jackson to beat them with his arm and he’s thrown some bombs to Brown if he has a clean pocket. Quote:

Watkins comments really put things into context as to why we missed out on some WRs in free agency. Basically the WR 2 is atleast the 3rd option in this offense. Not exactly ground breaking info but nice to be able to make sense of it. I'm still butthurt JuJu didnt sign here that would have been sick.
