KCC, Nick Wright and Lebron will spend the rest of their lives miserable because they never caught thatwhite whale that is Michael Jordan. I don't know what Lebron and Nick will blame but it's obvious KCC blames the Warriors.

Basically is his ceiling not being 'the guy'. But sure, he could have been part of some other playoff team.

I have no clue what clicked in Wiggins. But Self couldn’t get it out of him neither could almost a decade in the league. It’s always been effort and intensity with him and I have no clue what happened to make it work at this point in his career. I couldn’t care less about him being ‘the guy’. He’s long past living up to his draft position. All I’m saying is it’s impressive the turnaround he made and that at this point in his career Kerr deserves a lot of credit for getting it out of him.

But I bet the Celts would have wanted this version of Wiggins. I’d also bet that as impressive as their turnaround was and they deserve a lot of credit for it, I doubt Wiggins would have been this version with that staff.

I’m open to being wrong though. And it’s also possible Wiggins goes back to not giving a ****. 40% of the time in 2023.

dirk digler 06-20-2022 08:50 AM

Kyrie is a team killer and I can't see a way that the Lakers will get him. They don't have the players or the cap space to do it and no way would the Nets accept any trade with what they have.

Clippers make alot of sense and have the assets. Irving, Kawhi and PG would be pretty interesting and Ballmer has the cash to do it.

Quote:

For the Lakers, the likely path to acquire Irving — and reunite him with LeBron James — would be Irving opting in to facilitate a trade, because the Lakers cannot realistically clear cap space to sign him themselves, and a sign-and-trade would trigger the hard cap, thus making acquiring Irving significantly more difficult. If Irving would opt in, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka would have to satisfy the collective bargaining agreement’s salary-matching rules, meaning if Irving’s $36.6 million was the only incoming salary, the Lakers could send anywhere from $29.3 million to $45.8 million to the Nets and/or a third team in a legal transaction.

For the Knicks, the likely path to acquire Irving depends on what the Nets prioritize. New York is even with the salary-cap line for 2022-23 so it could clear enough space to sign Irving on a maximum contract by offloading salaries such as Evan Fournier, Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel and Kemba Walker. But the Knicks could also offer some or all of those players to the Nets or a third team in a possible sign-and-trade.

For the Clippers, the likely path to get Irving requires him to opt in, because they are significantly over both the luxury-tax line and the hard cap for 2022-23. To satisfy salary matching, the Clippers would need to send out between $29.3 million and $45.8 million to the Nets and/or a third team if Irving is the only salary headed their way. The Clippers’ scenario is less complicated than the Lakers, as the Clippers have a series of players making $11 million to $17 million to work with. For example, two or three of Norman Powell, Marcus Morris, Luke Kennard and Reggie Jackson going out satisfies the CBA’s trade rules, and they also have a collection of young players like Terance Mann or Brandon Boston who could help sweeten the deal.

More Curry goodness and domination

Quote:

Despite getting no superstar treatment, Stephen Curry managed to torch the Celtics”: The GSW MVP becomes the only player in Finals history to average 30 PPG with less than 5 FTA per game.

Tatum: 18 FTA from 92 drives

Curry: 2 FTA from 78 drives

Brown: 14 FTA from 77 drives

Payton Pritchard got more FTA from drives in the Finals than Stephen Curry.

NBA draft Thursday, looks like Ochai will be a lottery pick and Braun will go in the first. Pretty incredible, I really didn't see that coming.

I haven’t followed. Agbaji is slotted a lottery pick?

Good for him.

I did hear Braun getting some buzz because he’s a good athlete and white. Lol

Kiimo 06-20-2022 08:57 PM

Braun measured a 41 inch vertical and going along with a pretty good shot and aggressive moves to the basket he started getting first round buzz.

Needs to develop in the half court and fix the dip in his shot though.

Im actually surprised MLB is so high. If you include nternational, NBA viewership and interest destroys MLB though.

dirk digler 06-21-2022 06:39 AM

The NBA TV numbers posted above don't tell the whole story. The total viewership for Game 6 was almost 17 million people. Highest rated finals since 2017 when Lebron got swept and everyone laughed at the loser and higher than the bubble Finals when everybody was sitting at home.

https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/...riors-celtics/

Quote:

US viewership for the 2022 National Basketball Association (NBA) finals increased 22 per cent year-over-year (YoY), averaging 12.4 million viewers.

The figures from analytics firm Nielsen mean the series was the most-watched NBA finals in three years.

The Golden State Warriors’ victory in game six on 16th June generated an average of 13.99 million viewers on Disney-owned commercial network ABC and peaked with 16.82 million viewers. Game six viewership was 75 per cent higher than its closest competition on television.

The 2022 NBA finals also delivered the highest share for the event since 2017. One in five viewers watching television on game nights were tuned into the NBA finals on ABC.

What's their record versus each other in the Finals for game wins? These guys have faced off against each other for at least 12-15(?) games.

I believe it's 3-1 for Steph when playing for Championship wins versus each other.

Ahh.i got it. KCC doesn't like this conversation because it basically pulls Lebron down from the MJ discussion into a lower tier and MJ is the undisputed at that point. Not that he already isn't but that conversation stops.

I'm not saying I believe in lizard people, but if Adam Silver turned out to be one, it wouldn't suprise me.

Looove Presti passed on Smith to get Chet. Chet is going to be so interesting to watch progress. Yes hes a bigger risk than Smith whos a sure thing but Chet has potential off the charts.

Feel bad for Murray. Sacramento is where good players go to die. They really should have picked Ivey and possibly traded Fox. Fox only gonna get you so far.

Jalen Williams out of Santa Clara was not really on my radar but watching the film its hard to not be impressed. He can get his own shot and is someone that can score at the end of the shot clock to get some strain off of SGA.

I would not have drafted Braun that high but hes in a dream scenario. Perfect fit for him. Agbaji should be expected to shoot in Cleveland. Hope he can be a Ben McLemore type in the league. If anyone deserves success its him. Love that kid as a person.

^^We could do the same with Lebron. Also, Steph has the most 3 pointers made in NBA history.

Lebron is a great player and one of the best ever. But the thread title has 2022 in it.

Not with those kind of horrid stats at the end of that video.

Poor Lakers. So they are going to be stuck with Westbrick and Woj just tweeted John Wall is signing with the Clippers after his buyout. LeGM and the Lakers aren’t even the best team in LA now.

BWillie 06-27-2022 08:00 PM

With the #1 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, the Orlando Magic select Victor Wembanyama. Really really tall mother****er. France. Chet Holmgren but 3 inches taller and a little better frame.

They very much weren't the best team in LA before John Wall signed with the Clippers. Did you watch them last year?

KC_Connection 06-27-2022 08:21 PM

John Wall also hasn't been good about 4 years now, so we'll see if that has any impact on their contending status at all. As long as Kawhi is healthy, though, the Clippers have a chance against anyone.

So the Warriors will dominate next year and the Lakers will at least have a chance at being the 2nd best team in California?

So long as Westbrook is playing significant minutes for the Lakers, they'll struggle to make the playoffs. He's one of the worst players in the league. They'd be much better off paying him his $50M to sit at home (which they will likely end up doing at some point).

One would hope that they'd be losing to fully healthy Bucks or Clippers teams in the playoffs that they were able to dodge this season.
