Jesus - why not just ask the Bengals and Patriots to both forfeit? And then we'll play one-handed to signify the mental handicaps the Bills are dealing with right now. Y'know, as a showing of solidarity. The race to be the 'most compassionate' here is just cracking me up. This has become like watching politicians argue over who hates child predators more. Girls - you're all pretty. Nobody's really super stoked about Damar Hamlin collapsing on a football field. I think we're all in agreement on that. Can we, y'know, actually PLAY the games at some point instead of just trying to one-up each other's displays of concern? Lord. |

Is it too soon to send a request to the Madden team asking them to adjust Higgins Trucking stat?

I actually thought Booger was pretty genuine last night, but only because you could tell he was angry and trying to keep it under control.
Kolber and Schefter, OTOH, were just phony as hell. "None of us have ever felt anything like this before; it's impossible to describe...." Oh for ****s sake - yes, you've felt this kind of concern before. You've felt GREATER concern than this before. But you're in front of a camera so lets ham it up, fellas. And stop using your damn "parents who had to put the family dog down talking to the children" voice. |

You're either outraged and stricken with grief, or you're an incompassionate, ignorant piece of shit. But yeah, listening to Mike Florio open his podcast like he's reading a eulogy made my eyes roll. Just deliver the ****ing news. You don't have to fake a tone. We all know the significance of what happened. |

It's mind boggling really. |
If you want to see a great example of virtue signal dog piling without any real thought or consideration, look at the intense reaction to Skip Bayless' innocuous tweet last night about the NFL's scheduling concerns. It's honestly like nobody actually read what he wrote.

In theory, we want people to be able to say that they're hurting, or to reveal their anxieties. But guess what? We all have fears and anxieties. We all get traumatized in ways large and small. When everyone is sharing everything, then it causes others to get anxieties and be traumatized. I think it's fine and good to be able to share when you're really hurting about something, or if you're being chased by a hell pig or a buffalo/tiger hybrid. But these days everyone is sharing how traumatized they are by having to empty the trash at work or having Starbucks run out of milk for their espresso. There needs to be a minimum bar for being traumatized, and anything below that bar is just dealing with life. |

Of all the dipshit things that guy had said, he gets dragged for that? He was finally right about something, FFS! |
I remember Dick Butkus going on ESPN's Up Close in the 1990s.
He was on the field as an opposing player when Detroit's Chuck Hughes died. Butkus said it was an honorable death, that was the best way to go out as a football player. |

Everyone I've ever come across who uses the term "virtual signalling" is an old man who shouts at clouds. Often follows this up with other dumbass words/phrases like "woke" "cancel culture" and "do your research". You're just as whiney and pathetic as the liberals (who are also cringe) you hate so much.

They've taken so much of that hostility out of sports that yeah, making those comparisons today is just silly. |

I'm proud of you, champ. You're doing great work here, Tiger. We're all better people because of you. But definitely not as good AS you. |

You mean referring to the massive implications of postponing the game on the NFL postseason schedule while also acknowledging its irrelevance in comparison to a man's life? There's not a chance Skip Bayless thought this would generate the reaction it did. |

Reading that tweet in a vacuum, I don't see any issues with it and nothing out of the ordinary from what's being talked about at length from everyone else... but if anyone deserves to be mistakenly dumped on, it's him. Or else make a 2nd account, @NonCharicatureSkipBayless. |
That's really it, I don't think the tweet itself is the worst thing in history but the guy has spent a long time being all about the drama and it's not hard to read that tweet in his "voice."
|
Yeah it's not the worst tweet in the world and he does say it all seems irrelevant but Skip does stir shit all the time. I don't think he was necessarily shit stirring but man you gotta read the room.

Apparently Shannon Sharpe skipped their show today... in protest?

That's the worst-case scenario, and isn't that likely from the info we have, but it's not off the table yet. |

Does Buffalo just drop out of the playoffs or do they expect everyone to wait for them? |
I feel like this thread should be locked. This game isn't being played anytime soon.
