I don't think so.

If they both win this weekend, the Bills would be a game up, but a Bengals win would give them the 2 seed via head to head.

Of course, selfishly, I worry that the Bengals wouldn't have anything to play for, pretty much handing the Bills the victory. But if it happens, it happens.

Hosting divisional would be something to play for.

What scenario on this Sunday's results make Bengals not have something to play for if the suspended game is played?

Even if Bengals lost to Ravens, Bengals win AFC North by beating Bills.

Every other scenario would be for higher seed between Bills and Bengals.

Have any of you seen someone need to have CPR and an AED used on them like that or in that situation?

I've done the training but fortunately no. I do remember the mannequin they used had like something in the chest that you would feel if you were doing the compressions right. I'm 200 lbs and had to put my body weight into it and the instructor specifically said that if you do CPR correctly, it's extremely likely you'll have to break multiple ribs on the person receiving it to do it correctly.

So yeah, extremely happy I've never had to put the training to use.

Buffalo has to forfeit in that situation.

There is no other solution.

You can't delay two games. And you can't hold up the rest of the league for Buffalo forever.

If you are the NFL it is very simple:

"We'll see your asses on that field Sunday or else you're getting a loss."

I did not see this posted but the Chiefs seeding may be determined by ping-pong balls (ala draft lottery).

https://www.kansascity.com/sports/sp...270736082.html

Chiefs would get HFA if the league draws a 3, 6, or 13 (weeks KC lost).

Pick a random game and it doesn't count? So 13 chances a win doesn't count and 3 a loss doesn't count. The Bills had a 60 percent chance to lose when the game was stopped.

In what world is THIS fair ROFL no wonder Bills fans SUPPORT these ideas.

staylor26 01-04-2023 03:43 PM

We should move the playoffs back 2 weeks so the Bills can play the Patriots and Bengals later!

comochiefsfan 01-04-2023 03:44 PM

If the Bills say they don't want to play this Sunday then that's fine.

But they need to understand by doing so that they're voluntarily forfeiting any possibility at the one seed.

O.city 01-04-2023 03:44 PM

In that scenario, odds are the Chiefs don't get the #1 seed.

I'd say the odds of the the Bengals winning the other night were pretty good.

That would suck, but someone is getting ****ed here either way. I kinda think you guys are fooling yourselves if you think they're just gonna give the Chiefs the #1 seed with a "no contest" and be done with it.

Agree.

What if Hamlin's condition is exactly what it is today in two weeks when the playoffs begin. Are the Bills not going to play a playoff game? I mean come on now. There is no reason that the Week 18 games can't be played. If Buffalo doesn't want to play they can forfeit, and it won't really hurt their playoff seeding. But to pause the entire league because something happened on the field of play is odd. I don't have a problem with how things went down on Monday night, but you can't let any incident halt the season, let alone the playoffs.

This is ridiculous at this point. The Bills could have played Thursday and Monday. They didn't want to, so the gane is either a forfeit or no contest. The NE game would be a forfeit

The bills should just forfeit the remainder of the season. Go home.

This entire situation is just too much for them to endure. I mean, who can focus on playoffs with this looming over them. This sort of trauma doesn't just go away in a week.

It's the right thing to do. For the players.

Typical leave for a death of a family member in the US us only 3 days yet we're supposed to just shut up and support the Bills not wanting to go to work? And that's an immediate family member and actually dying. Most don't get anything for aunts uncles cousins...etc and are expected to show up to work.

So no I don't have sympathy for the legions of crying Bills fans on twatter

I brought this up earlier:

If this had happened in practice how would the scenario play out?

The Bills players would be just a traumatized. Hamlin holding on for life is just as tragic.

Would the NFL even consider moving schedules around?

I understand and was in agreement with them stopping play on Monday. But it’s going to be Thursday in less than 8 hours. If they want to win a Super Bowl then it’s time to get back to practice and move on.

I also want the league to just call the game a no contest and move on. Just rip the bandaid off.

KC gets 1 seed. Bills get 2 seed. Cinci gets 3 seed. (assuming all win)

So how long is the rest of the league expected to wait for Buffalo to be done with their bereavement (for someone who HASN'T died, is stable and improving) leave?

League should just give Buffalo this year's Lombardi. Maybe next year's too.

And no more football should be played until the Bills are ready for someone to play football again. It's just too soon.

So someone not ruling something out is Buffalo communicating that they’re not going to be ready to play?

Did you really expect the head of the NFLPA to box the Bills into a corner?

****ing clown.

"Troy Vincent did not rule out the possibility of postponing the game. Just says that conversation has not come up yet. If they feel they have to do that for the players' and coaches' well being, they'll then address it," NFL Network's Mike Garafolo tweeted.

I love how something taken out of context gets everyone here so riled up and angry.

You guys are just dying to be mad at something…anything.

Why is it even a question that Buffalo wouldn’t be ready to play the Faketriots on Sunday?

Explain.

Technically, he did. If you are pulseless and not breathing you are clinically dead.

We should change your name to BoldBraveBill

I personally think you should be onboard with doing the right thing and just forfeiting the rest of the season. Come back next season and take another run after the players have enough time to get their minds right.

For the betterment of the players, ya know?

I mean, surely you wouldn't want them going to and risk injuring themselves because they're too depressed to properly play.

What are you, a monster?

Of course they should have.

It’s an American sports tradition to go back out and compete for your fallen brethren.

Because they’re assuming as of now that the game will go on as planned while being respectful to the team for image reasons?

I'm sure you would've had that same opinion if that happened to Mahomes in a game with seeding implications...

KCUnited 01-04-2023 04:07 PM

Bills players negotiating unlimited paternity leave (ala Frank Clark) into their contracts before agreeing to play again.

It's going to be really tough with the flag fest we will witness Saturday night...

Worry not. If they can’t go this weekend they for sure will be ready by playoff time. It’s almost like the best thing for the NFL is to have KC lose and give Buffalo a pass on their last two games to “overcome” while still maintaining HFA. They then make the SB and win and they become a NFL films documentary about how they overcame impossible odds to win it all.

The only way to overcome it is to use the bat signal and get BlackOp to start the GDT. We need to fight their dark arts with our own black magic.

Just seems like every time I think this situation can't get any dumber, it does. And it's ****ing with the NFL playoffs in which my team will be participating in.

ToxSocks 01-04-2023 04:09 PM

You're all wrong.

Bills just need to forfeit the playoffs. Just go home. Hand the division to Miami or NE.

This is clearly too traumatic to deal with. The trauma they experienced doesn't just heal in a matter of days or weeks.

Any of you Bills fan ****s who are still thinking about playoffs at all, let alone seeding, you're ****ing scum bags.
