They only thing they have in common is that they were back up Chief TE projects.

You get obsessed with some weird topics.

Bottom line is Fortson is going to make the team and he will play TE and mainly be used to catch passes rather than block. The size of his ass, his legs, or cock for that matter, mean nothing as far as changing any of that.

I was thinking he's a dead ringer for Jason Dunn

CasselGotPeedOn 08-18-2021 12:38 PM

Maybe Fortson will make it as FB. Very similar in body type to Mike Alstott.

Direckshun 08-18-2021 12:40 PM

Come to think of it, maybe I should try out for the Chiefs. I have a very similar body type to Jody Fortson.

AdolfOliverBush 08-18-2021 12:41 PM

I'm guessing Reid has a couple of goal line jump-pass plays drawn up for Fortson. He's the genetic clone of Dontari Poe.

Holy shit, you take yourself way too seriously. It's not exactly breaking news that a WR to TE conversion project player isn't going to be prototypical size in year one. That doesn't mean we can't get excited about his potential or discuss how we'll use him this year.

KCUnited 08-18-2021 12:43 PM

Reminds me of a narrower assed Brad Cottom

lol

The NFL, like most things in life, has patterns. Most players in specific position groups have similar attributes.

WR's for example typically have long, lean limbs. They have high set, thinner calves, like a sprinter. They're generally skinnier at the ankle as well. Their muscle structure is different than say, that of a RB. Look at the build of Watkins, Hardman, D-Rob etc.

RB's typically have the most impressive pound for pound lower bodies, as they need to power through 300lbs linemen, drag piles etc. They have calves like bowling balls, thick legs and ass. Look at Helair.

QB's typically tend to be thick in the mid section. They create torque with their bodies constantly, and as such have incredibly strong cores. Look at Mahomes for example.

******

These muscle structures and body types aid in their unique ability to play their position. Hence why you see common themes throughout NFL rosters.

I'm merely pointing out that Fortson doesn't fit the mold of NFL TE's. He's still built like a WR, which begs the question of whether he can do real TE things in a real NFL game.

Does he have the base to drive against a LB and block? Because yes, he will have to do that. Can he pass protect? Yes, he will have to do that. Can he fight off a LB pressing him at the LoS, and battle through him to make the catch? Because those are TE things. The stronger the base (legs and ass and so forth) the better the ability to accomplish those tasks. Hence my comments about him still looking like a WR.

If you think he's going to just line up and do Travis Kelce things, you're mistaken. The amount of routes Kelce runs is a luxury most TE's aren't afforded, even Kelce admits that. Fortson has to bring more to the table other than just catching the ball to ever develop into a true TE.

Thanks for proving my point.

And why shouldn't Lamar be able to outrun a defense like he can?

And Murray's height limitation is a real thing, and he does have trouble seeing out of a pocket, hence why he tries to roll into voids so frequently to find a clear throwing lanes. It's a known issue for him.

Ya'll so defensive over Jody Fortson. LMAO

Why you are you getting mad that people disagree with you about Fortson though? It's no big deal fgs :D . Let's see how he progresses in the next two games and then if/when he makes the roster it will be up to him to perform in practice and earn that TE 2 spot. I believe he's gonna be a stud and you don't? Ok then let's wait and see as all we're doing is projecting anyway.

Year 3. He's in year 3. IIRC, they tinkered with him at TE in year 1. Went back to WR in year 2. Settled in on TE here in year 3.

We are discussing him.

I'm just giving you my reasons as to why i have my doubts for THIS season. Ya'll are acting like im just making shit up.

No one is mad. Why is it when people disagree someone has to assume someone is mad?

Because im arguing my point, that makes me mad? Drama queen.

And to posters like Uchiefybugger: If you have a problem with someone challenging your Preseason optimism than stay the **** out of the conversation instead of whining about my opinion.

When pads were off all we heard about was Gray and with pads on it is Fortson. Would like to see more of Gray in this next game.
