It sucks that it didn’t work out, but I just can’t find many reasons to be discouraged going forward. To my eye, we’ve got a GM who kicks ass and executes moves whenever he sees fit, and is aggressive about filling holes. We’ve got a coach who despite his warts, is one of the 10 best coaches in NFL history. And now we’ve got the center piece who can hopefully glue it all together with Mahomes.

I see a bright future for both KC and the Rams honestly, but ours is much less likely to be filled with malcontent headaches to an extent that we haven’t been able to see in that locker room.

There were teams that had him as a mid round pick at best precisely because of his personality. I don't think immaturity is this guys problem, I think he's just a flat out ****y asshole. From throwing temper tantrums on national TV to the report that he tried to choke an assistant coach, he was showing us exactly who and what he was all about. Growing up doesn't fix the fact that you're just a natural born asshole.

And to speculate here - and it's only speculation - I would say it this way. Let's suppose for one minute that they DIDN'T trade Peters this year. Who's to say that he wouldn't become a locker room disaster - and take the rest of the team into a hole that it might take years to dig out of?

Not saying that it WOULD have happened - just saying that maybe Reid felt that "all was done that could have been done" and it was only going to get worse. How else could it be explained? You have to figure that at some point, his antics were going to get out of hand. It is the only "obvious" reason I can see for letting such a talented player "hit the bricks"
