Agreed. Hope this one works out the same way.

No, it did not.

The Chiefs traded an NFL Hall of Famer for a left tackle that was constantly injured, a running back who was constantly injured and a tight end that was constantly injured.

That's not a great trade, not by any margin.

All you have to do is look at his past two teams. College and pro (Washington and KC). He’s fine the first year. Year 2 the foundation starts to crack. Year 3 the foundation starts to crumble.

Funny, that worked with Tyreek Hill but not Peters.

It worked with Chris Jones (when healthy) but not Peters.

It worked with Travis Kelce, who was suspended for a year in college, causing him to drop to the 3rd round, but not with Peters.

I wonder why?

Because Busby's a dumbass?

Because not every troubled player is the same ****ing person? Sometimes you end up with a Peters or a T.O. dude.

Some people are never going to be able to comprehend this deal beyond us merely getting rid of a great football player.

It sucks that it didn’t work out, but I just can’t find many reasons to be discouraged going forward. To my eye, we’ve got a GM who kicks ass and executes moves whenever he sees fit, and is aggressive about filling holes. We’ve got a coach who despite his warts, is one of the 10 best coaches in NFL history. And now we’ve got the center piece who can hopefully glue it all together with Mahomes.

I see a bright future for both KC and the Rams honestly, but ours is much less likely to be filled with malcontent headaches to an extent that we haven’t been able to see in that locker room.

Washington (college) and the Chiefs were both wrong in thinking it’d be different for them.

Well, there was a huge coaching change that led to Peters removal from the Huskies. So, while that's on him, the school didn't have any reason to believe he was going to be the trouble he was. The Chiefs on the other hand...

The former Washington director of football operations essentially told me that Marcus was tearing their locker room apart.

Exactly.

If the Chiefs could get through to 3 out of 4 players, how can you possibly blame them for the 4th not working out?

Do you really believe that the Chiefs didn't try everything in their power to get through to Peters?

This is all on Peters, man.

All of it.

There were teams that had him as a mid round pick at best precisely because of his personality. I don't think immaturity is this guys problem, I think he's just a flat out ****y asshole. From throwing temper tantrums on national TV to the report that he tried to choke an assistant coach, he was showing us exactly who and what he was all about. Growing up doesn't fix the fact that you're just a natural born asshole.

Bewbies 02-25-2018 01:13 PM

I wonder if Vikings fans were able to understand the team was absolutely done with Moss when they traded him for a 4?

Of if they thought it was proof of front office incompetence and not recognizing how good Moss was?

Bewbies 02-25-2018 01:16 PM

Also, if Belichick traded Peters like this the narrative would be how it looks strange but he’s a genius so it must be the right move.

Nobody questions when NE dumps a turd for nothing.

And to speculate here - and it's only speculation - I would say it this way. Let's suppose for one minute that they DIDN'T trade Peters this year. Who's to say that he wouldn't become a locker room disaster - and take the rest of the team into a hole that it might take years to dig out of?

Not saying that it WOULD have happened - just saying that maybe Reid felt that "all was done that could have been done" and it was only going to get worse. How else could it be explained? You have to figure that at some point, his antics were going to get out of hand. It is the only "obvious" reason I can see for letting such a talented player "hit the bricks"

I have NO love for Bob Sutton - but if he loses control of one player - we'll, you get the idea

If your teeth were that yellow you'd be an asshole too.

I'd tend to agree if Peters was the only one acting out.
