The Chiefs traded an NFL Hall of Famer for a left tackle that was constantly injured, a running back who was constantly injured and a tight end that was constantly injured. That's not a great trade, not by any margin. |
All you have to do is look at his past two teams. College and pro (Washington and KC). He’s fine the first year. Year 2 the foundation starts to crack. Year 3 the foundation starts to crumble.

It sucks that it didn’t work out, but I just can’t find many reasons to be discouraged going forward. To my eye, we’ve got a GM who kicks ass and executes moves whenever he sees fit, and is aggressive about filling holes. We’ve got a coach who despite his warts, is one of the 10 best coaches in NFL history. And now we’ve got the center piece who can hopefully glue it all together with Mahomes. I see a bright future for both KC and the Rams honestly, but ours is much less likely to be filled with malcontent headaches to an extent that we haven’t been able to see in that locker room. |

If the Chiefs could get through to 3 out of 4 players, how can you possibly blame them for the 4th not working out? Do you really believe that the Chiefs didn't try everything in their power to get through to Peters? This is all on Peters, man. All of it. |

I wonder if Vikings fans were able to understand the team was absolutely done with Moss when they traded him for a 4?
Of if they thought it was proof of front office incompetence and not recognizing how good Moss was? |
Also, if Belichick traded Peters like this the narrative would be how it looks strange but he’s a genius so it must be the right move.
Nobody questions when NE dumps a turd for nothing. |

And to speculate here - and it's only speculation - I would say it this way. Let's suppose for one minute that they DIDN'T trade Peters this year. Who's to say that he wouldn't become a locker room disaster - and take the rest of the team into a hole that it might take years to dig out of? Not saying that it WOULD have happened - just saying that maybe Reid felt that "all was done that could have been done" and it was only going to get worse. How else could it be explained? You have to figure that at some point, his antics were going to get out of hand. It is the only "obvious" reason I can see for letting such a talented player "hit the bricks" I have NO love for Bob Sutton - but if he loses control of one player - we'll, you get the idea |
