Any team can put together one good season.

He had one really good season for the Royals. And the next year he was mediocre. Overall he was not a #1. He's right. The Royals haven't had one in recent memory.

He was also very good in 08.

Grienke may make the HOF but isnt a #1? LMAO

Rather than trade every halfway decent player for a mediocre return (or single A crapshoots) and slice payroll to Marlins level for 5 years, I'd much rather see them spend a bit on short contracts to try to be somewhat competitive over the next few years, while sprinkling in rookies to see what sticks. Then when the core guys like Mondesi, Soler, Bonifacio, Phillips etc are reaching their prime and the star prospects are appearing on the scene (and Gordon is off the payroll), they can fill in the gaps.

Sure, it's "ideal" to go all the way and build through the draft and trades, but this organization isn't known for being extremely adept at drafting and developing. There's no guarantee that 5 years of suckage and prospect collecting will even lead to .500 baseball again, much less another World Series run.

If fast- tracking was a good idea, would it really be called fast-tracking? It would just be the process. Rushing things is a horrible idea.

Have we slid anyone through waivers yet? Duffman, Duda?

BWillie 08-05-2018 04:52 PM

Not sure anyone wants to bite on his 3/50 remaining

Since 1901 there have been 12,783 individual seasons for hitters.

Alshittys 38 wRC+ in 2018 is the 7th worst in history.

Yet, he keeps playing. #theProcess

Good. Get him through waivers and wait for injuries. Profit.

Im watching this Yankees at Red Socks game. What's up with this Yankee pitcher #54? He is dripping sweat. I have never seen a pitcher with beads of sweat just pouring out like this guy and it's after midnight in Boston where it is currently 76 degrees.

Gotta see what we have in him. He's part of the future.

I know he went on the DL. My guess is they sideline him for the year. Seems to me there are no more games where the royals are behind 9 - 0 in the third since Hammel and Kennedy are no longer in the rotation.
