Why is the line being blamed?

Alex sucked today at reading the blitz and coverages, and held the ball too long.

Event the broadcast mentioned it several times.

Hopefully he can get it cleaned up on a short week, because we're going to need a lot of points on Thursday.

Why is the OL being blamed for playing like shit?

I suppose it has something to do with playing like shit. But thats just me.

Not to mention that it was appropriate to pick out plays under pressure, when we're talking about how Alex needs to burn people when he's getting pressure. Duh.

No. I look at all the attempts.

And the entirety of Alex's career. Not just his two "good" seasons where he threw for like 17 whopping TDs.

He's near the bottom of the league in yards per completion every year.

Something like 24th with the 49ers the last two seasons.

This year just about dead last so far.

Says the King Cherry Picker

Im not missing anything. Not saying jsp, but a lot of the people crying have been crying since we traded for Smith and right now, right now we are 2-0. If you listened to some of them we would believe Cassel is Smith, Smith is Cassel. Brand new offense, new QB....2-0.

A game against the worst team in the league and against a mediocre team isn't really relevant. Smith isn't 2012 Cassel... he's not throwing to wide open defenders, he doesn't curl up into the fetal position when there's a blitz... but, he had good games against bad-mediocre teams... probably consecutively a few times, too.

So he is on track for 32 now right?

Sure. I remember when Cassel was on pace to throw for 4,000 yards.

The nfl made the schedule, we are 2-0 with 0 turnovers and 100% in the red zone, i do believe

No they weren't.

They were talking about how the fact that Smith very rarely threatens deep allows teams to stack the box and blitz with little risk.

CP is full reerun.

I can even express at this point how ****ing stupid this place is.

Look, when you have an attacking defense, there are going to be breakdowns and big games when you're relying on 1 on 1 coverage.

Flowers had a lot of shut down games in Crennel's scheme. Heck, remember when we held Wes Welker to two catches when he was with the high flying Patriot offense?

Hard to praise that effort when we lost that game 31-3, huh?

If we're going to have to give up a few of these big games to have a better defensive performance as a whole, so be it. It's nice to be on the attack for a change.
