bases loaded and no outs. 1 run to win the game and failed. Bases loaded one out. Schildt puts Martinez in again and he fails again. Norris loses the game last night. Throws 30 pitches, right? He puts him in the next game, a day game. Blows the lead doesn’t look sharp. Then Schildt let’s him continue to pitch after coughing up the lead until the winning run is in scoring position. WTF kind of managing is that shit?

Adams is hitting below the Mendoza line since July, he has shown no power. Why is he starting over Munoz who can hit and has power?

Looks like Schildt benefited from the dead cat bounce of the Matheny firing, because he's managed like a goddamned idiot for the last several days (and his bullpen mismanagement has been little better than Matheny's since his hiring).

That was Matheny level stupid management. Absolutely abysmal.

It's a good thing the Cardinals don't have Daniel Murphy, Voit and Pham right now.

If anything I wish the Cardinals would actually get a real closer.

I'd settle for a manager that realizes that matchups and leverage are far more important than having a "closer". Your best reliever should face their best hitters late in the game, regardless of if it's in the 7th or 9th inning.

If the last month has taught us anything, it should be that you can take fringe-y starting pitchers from AAA and make them decent relievers.
