In addition to the alleged DUI, which Yahoo Sports could not immediately verify, police in Washington County, Ark., arrested Denney on Dec. 7, 2013 for disorderly conduct, minor in possession of alcohol and littering after witnessing him throw a bottle of Malibu Black Rum into oncoming traffic, according to a police report. The bottle, the report said, narrowly missed a vehicle.

The arrest marks the second consecutive spring a Boston prospect has been in trouble with the law. Last March, Red Sox pitching prospect Drake Britton was arrested for DUI after driving 111 mph in a 45-mph zone, hopping a curb and ending up caught in a barbed-wire fence. When asked for his license, Britton gave the police a debit card.

Cool. It will be a week or two but I'll update here.

I cannot wait for the Royal's season to start. For all of my adult life, baseball season signaled that winter has come and gone, and the cold with it. The weather turns warmer, and the grass turns green again. The start of a new season is symbolic; one, the Royals season, brings about new hope and all the joy that comes with baseball. The other, spring itself, getting warmer as the baseball season progresses and cycles all the way to cool October air, is intertwined with baseball. Adults like us who were once kids like us remember April as the start of something beautiful, a confluence of events that made this time of year incredibly exciting.

And that was when the Royals were bad. This year is different, in a number of ways. In Texas, winter doesn't put up much of a fight between summer and spring. I no longer get a summer vacation, and I'm getting older as the day goes on. But the excitement of this season makes trumps the excitement of last season's start, which trumped every season start for 30 years.

I cannot wait.
