That's a fine policy most of the time. It can get pretty bad in here when the team loses a road game or two and guys like him start calling for Self's head, though. :)

I didn't disagree that OU was better. You said way better, which is utter nonsense. I'm sorry that you can't just admit that you were wrong. You're like Fonzi. I was wah....wah....../can't say it.

If being behind OU in every statistical rating system (BPI-2nd to 17th; KenPom-5th to 10th; Sagarin-3rd to 9th; Massey-2nd to 10th) by a significant margin doesn't mean "way better," I'm not sure what would constitute that. I'm not just pulling this out of my ass here.

Keep the trolls. Ban bad fans like KC Connection.

Bad fan? I'm basically the only guy in here defending the program when they happen lose a road game and the massive freakouts begin again. LMAO

You're too much of a stats nerd. Use your eyes. Besides, those rankings are not that far off. That's not way better. Way better would be KU ranked 30-40 at most. But I give up. I'm sure you'll come back with some ridiculous excuse to explain it yet again.

Also, if you can't see with your eyes that this team would be much better if Graham brought the ball up every time then you don't know basketball. Just IMO, of course.

Well, we've gotten to root of the argument... KCC's "way better" means not having a Withey type of equalizer... which (to me) means OU has an equalizer and KU doesn't. Fair enough. The point of argument for me was a comment the other day about 'way better in all areas' (or something similar), but if that's the same thing... meh.

No, I just like using facts and statistics to support my arguments instead of nothing at all. If I was using my eyes, though, I would say that KU is soft as hell and the stats don't really reflect that difference. If anything, you could argue the two teams are further apart considering that.

All depends on how you define "way better," I guess. Which is why I said this entire discussion was pretty semantical.

Do you really think it was some kind of coincidence that the team's performance fell off a cliff in January as Frank Mason did? The team goes as he does. Has for two seasons now.

Withey was one of the best players in college basketball in his last year. Huge defensive impact. That's no small margin for me.

KU doesn't need your defending. We'll be just fine.

So am I a KU apologist or a bad KU fan? Pretty sure it can't be both.

Lzen 02-07-2016 08:14 PM

Stats are fine. I use them to prove my arguments sometimes, as well. But they don't always tell the whole story.

What a strange season, I've never consciously avoided KU threads as much as this year. Is the possiblilty of losing the conference streak making people even more bitter and argumentative than usual, or am I just getting old?

I think it's the frustration with the fact that we should be performing better with the talent we have.
