Yup.

Like I said, no other reason to fire Herm today, no other reason for all this to leak today.

That doesn't even make any sense. Why would firing Herm today have any significance? Why today over any other day?

So, if Shanarat does come to KC, will we still get to call him Shanarat?

It makes complete sense. Why today? For what other reason?

They could have fired him last week. They didn't, because Shanahan was still playing golf or getting his toes waxed or whatever the hell he does.

I don't have any good reason why I feel this way, but I don't think Shanahan is on his way to K.C.

Mort is in full retreat on ESPN News.

I plan to. He's still a rat, he'd just be our rat.

After three years of goody-two-shoes, we need a Rat.

Do you think they were just letting Herm's assistants walk without KNOWING they were going to fire him? They officially fired him TODAY, the last day they could before the Super Bowl. To me, this indicates that they know who they are hiring, or else they would have let him dangle until after the Super Bowl. I'm not saying it's Shanahan. I'm saying they know who they are hiring; and I suspect they will announce it tonight.

RedThat 01-23-2009 06:59 PM

The rat would be a good thing. At least we'd have a guy who'd take divisional games seriously. Unlike Herm, "ah it's just like another game."

So according to your sources are we hiring Shanahan without a shadow of a doubt?

What is he saying?

I've been out of the loop all day.

What a day to not have internet or tv access.

Probably due to the fact that is has been 10 days since Pioli's has been hired so why the long wait unless they had a candidate signed sealed and delivered.

DrRyan 01-23-2009 07:03 PM

So what is the just of what Mort and others are saying on ESPN now? Is he back tracking or is a Shanahan hire likely/imminent?
