Every time I see James Franco from now on it will always give me a chuckle.

I have a story to tell that many, if any people will hardly remember. It happened in 1996. JohnBoy, of JohnBoy & Billy radio. JohnBoy was asked by to give the command to start your engines for the spring North Wilkesboro race. So anyway, here is JohnBoy out there cameras all on him and he blurts out... "Gentlemen... and Jimmy Spencer, start your engines. Of course NASCAR hated it. They said he will never give the command ever again. Those that knew JohnBoy just shook their head and said yep thats JohnBoy for ya.

Yesterday, Franco went up a few notches in my book.

Jimmy Spencer was a riot...His actions on the track were legendary. Drivers knew that if they messed with him, they could very easily have ended up with hitting the wall at 180 mph - even before safer barriers were installed to reduce the impact.

Spencer was incredibly entertaining. He goes by the nickname "Mr Excitement."

NASCAR driver Michael Annett out indefinitely with broken sternum
Feb. 26, 2013

Michael Annett, a driver in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, will be out indefinitely after suffering a broken sternum in Saturday's race at Daytona International Speedway, his team said Tuesday.

Annett, 26, was scheduled to have surgery after doctors in North Carolina determined he had fractured and dislocated his sternum, or breastbone, Richard Petty Motorsports said.

Aric Almirola was tapped to drive Annett's No. 43 Ford at the Nationwide Series race this Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona.

Annett was part of a multicar crash near the end of last Saturday's race, with Annett's car slamming head-on into Daytona's outside wall.

The crash preceded the last-lap wreck in which Kyle Larson's car flew into the grandstand fence near the finish line, injuring more than two dozen spectators.

Serious injury. Wish him a speedy recovery. He clearly has talent.

I saw that today. Broken AND dislocated sternum. That's gonna sting a little.

I saw something else today, something I thought might happen after only 45 cars entered the 500. Phil Parsons Racing withdrew at Phoenix, leaving the entry list at 43. Obviously, that means everybody who shows up gets in the race. I'm afraid we're going to see a short field before this season is over.

AND: This is actually cool. Petty's 43 car is changing paint schemes. At every race that they're carrying the Smithfield sponsorship on the car, it will be painted Petty Blue, all blue, no other bullshit squiggles. Awesome. Just ****ing awesome.

Should I add anything else? Don't want it to take up anymore room. Point standing updates? Anything?
