Dont forget the Matt Cassel or Alex Smith trade. Those really worked out well...

Winners do not allow the culture of losing to continue to be a mainstay.

So, Andy Reid is a loser?

Oh, so the Alex Smith trade is a failure already, even though the season has yet to begin?

What time did you begin drinking today?

Riight. Because the compensation has been verified, Free Agency is over, as is the draft.

Actually stopped drinking Jan 2. No beer, bourbon, soft drinks or anything candy/sweet related.

Going to the gym and running, training for two 5K's in march and more later this year...

It's going to be a long 11 days...

Because it's a trade, the Chiefs take over Smith's remaining contract. Which amounts to $16M over the next 2 years. Word is that they're still arguing over draft pick compensation, but I don't think they can reduce the contract obligation numbers unless Smith agrees to it. Or the Chiefs and Smith come up with a new contract. And the new contract part has already been shot down by several sources....

Well personally, I hope they pay his existing contract. The last thing that I want to see is that Smith has been extended before ever suiting up as a Chief.

IMO, that would be stupid.

Yeah, I agree that would be really stupid.

But.... it could possibly save the Chiefs a little money compared to eating that $16M over the next 2 years. And this is the Chiefs we're talking about....

The chiefs hired a coach who went to 5 straight nfccg, and one super bowl, and brought a qb in who in the last two years has been the starting qb in a nfccg, and won 20 of 27 starts under his first offensive based head coach of his career.

How is that not a change in culture? You guys brought in todd haley who everyone in arizona hated, everyone in pittsburgh hates, and replaced him with romeo crennell who made brian daboll his oc, who the previous two years had gotten run out of both cleveland and miami.

Your culture has changed for the much better.

which is more costly ... the 16 million or 5 more years of Alex Smith as our QB?
