Despite what people here say....

Fisher improved into an average right tackle by year end
Fisher was raw and inexperienced, and we knew the first year would be a learning curve
Fisher was raw AND had a short offseason due to new cba rules
Fisher is better suited for the left where footwork is more important than strength, and where he has more instinctual technique
Fisher was undersized and can easily grow into a left tackle frame. I'd expect a poe like improvement in conditoning

Lots of reasons to be concerned, but those things above are reasons to be optimistic that he will at least be average.

Number 1 Overall Pick Expectations: At Least Be Average.... the Chiefs Way!

I already said Geno will get 3 years like the rest, but that doesn't mean I think he will be successful. Jets need to win NOW and if Geno keeps doing what he did last year, he's going to the bench. If that happens I doubt he'll start again for any team.
You can bag on Fisher all you want. I think he'll be a good player, and 32 nfl GM's obviously didn't think as much for Geno.

It's not being hypocritical at all. I just don't like Geno.

That selfish douche, whether you acknowledge it or not (you won't but it's fine) actually improved as the season wore on last year.

But he's not a chief, so he sucks.

Meanwhile, Eric fisher improved so much a the year went on, he was a healthy scratch in our playoff game.

O.city 03-25-2014 04:04 PM

And why do the jets need to win now? Theyre going young

Eric Fisher had to learn a new position at the pro level. If you think switching from LT to RT without a real offseason is easy, than you're ****ing high.

Lane Johnson struggled with this exact same process last year.

Rex Ryan's barely kept his job last year. Time to produce

32 NFL GMs didn't think that Russell Wilson was worth a 1st or a 2nd. 32 NFL GMs didn't think Tom Brady was worth 5th round draft pick. 32 ****ing NFL GMs didn't think that Joe Montana should go higher than a 3rd.

32 NFL GMs think you're a ****ing hypocrite though.

RunKC 03-25-2014 04:13 PM

Oh htsimage, every player in the world can't be a pro bowler the day they are drafted.

But I guess we should cut everyone from that draft last year. They're worthless now anyway, right?

NFL GM's didn't think those players were selfish pieces of shit either.

So you polled all 32 of them?

It's common sense really. When Mayock said Geno missing the Senior Bowl was going to make a bad scene, did you think he was lying?

When teams had no interest in him at the combine and acquired vet QB's don't you think that spoke volumes?

When people found out he was texting at team visits, did you think they were lying?

When a "supposed" top 10 pick drops out of the ****ing first rd entirely, doesn't that say something?

Nothing to do with GMs. There have always been QBs who skipped the Senior Bowl.

It meant that they wanted to bring stability to a position that was in a bad spot. Most teams generally don't do that with a rookie. Again....nothing to do with all 32 GMs.

Never said they were lying. Doesn't mean that all 32 GMs instantly said **** the kid and didn't draft him.

Players fall and rise out of the first round entirely....ESPECIALLY that far before the draft.

That's EXACTLY what I said.

It really is too bad that Geno Smith ****ed Run's girlfriend.

Otherwise, we wouldn't be talking about Geno Smith at all.
