Fun to go back and look at the first few pages of this thread where people were acting like James was some nobody that they’ve never heard of. Same with Omenihu. You can tell who the forum members who really don’t know dick about the NFL are pretty easily.

I had never heard of him. I was surprised that the Chiefs had signed another white receiver, then I realized Richie is a black guy.

That "When you get your OBJ at Wish" meme of side-by-side photos of my man Rich and OBJ is going to get a re-visit when RJ puts up better numbers than OBJ this season, the only reason it MAY not happen is because Mahomes even-distribution factor - also while I'm at it - if he's available I'd like him as my AAC if we still do those.

I'm telling you - barring injury we're going to GD love this guy! ..and on the D we're going to love Drew Tranquil much in the same way (gay and weird.)

They are wasting that guy and you know he'd put up 1300 yards immediately here

also Sean Payton is probably already working on fixing this to be fair

He’d put up 1000 and drop the other 300.

Do you just watch Chiefs' games for the most part? Because James was tied for most receptions on the NY Giants last year. He's pretty well-known if you follow the NFL as anything more than just a casual fan. 57 receptions on only 70 targets playing with a crappy QB. Had you ever heard of Omenihu?

Not sure what kind of numbers James will put up with us since we have a ton of options, but he's going to be a really solid addition to the team imo.

If he has a good understanding of the playbook he will thrive with Mahomes.

It might be timing. Dude runs to a spot and the ball isn't there or has to stop and wait for it PFF sees the corner close and says no separation.

I'm firmly in the Kyler blows camp. I think he's a poverty Lamar. I think I'm wrong, but that's the way I feel.

He's short and had a clause in his contract that said he had to dedicate so many hours to film study. Even though it was removed it say a lot about him. No QB getting paid what he is ever had something like that in his contract.

The more I read, the more he seems like a very good low-key signing.

He's gonna be a good player.

Absent any additions, He could end up being our 3rd most productive WR this year. Honestly he could sneak up to 2nd, but I think you'd need a lot of stuff to go wrong for that to happen. And if things go well, he'd likely slot in around 4.

But I cannot for the life of me understand why people still slot him behind Justin Watson when they talk about our WR room. Right now it's Toney, MVS, Moore and James, IMO. Rice, Watson, and Ross(squared) will have to earn their way past him and I'm just not sure that's terribly likely.

But as I said when we signed him, I REALLY like him as a 4th WR who can play up a bit and slot in as a 3 or even in short spurts as a 2. He's a good ballplayer, IMO.

The theory goes that those 'separation' metrics have nothing to do with the ball but rather space out of breaks.

If that's true, I think you could chalk a lot of that up to scheme. Some guys can scheme players open and others can't. Reid's a master of it and, unsurprisingly, Kafka appears to be good at it as well.

I would honestly have expected Kingsbury to be pretty good at that sort of thing - but maybe he's not? Or...maybe that's just not Hopkins game. And I think there's possibly some truth in there as well. He's just never been an explosive player even at his best.

We had a handful of those this offseason. Tranquille, James, Omenihu, and put me in the Mike Edwards camp also. We have a lot of good DBs, but none have stood out as ballhawks so far. That's Edwards's forte.

Like i said in the draft forum, i fully expect Moore vs James to be a legitimate camp battle. If Moore didn't/doesn't make the improvements everyone hopes/believes he will then no one should be surprised when James is out snapping him.
