Glad I missed most of that one.
|
Well, I'd say the bats woke up tonight.
|
Glad to see Garcia knows how to pitch with a lead...
|
Need a little more consistancy outta the Redbirds
|
Nice to see that against a guy who had given up 3 runs combined in his last 5 starts. Johan's had a nice season, but his strikeout rate is way down this season.
|
Uh-oh 7-5
|
and they blow it 7-7 Muts still batting.
|
Great. I go out for a 1/2 hour walk and come back to this shit.
Which one of our useless one who sucks the penis pathetic excuses for a pitcher is responsible for this shit? :cuss: |
Boggs.
I start the 9th hole trying to beat the dark and it's 7-3 Birds. I get in my car and it's a ****ing four alarm fire. Winn: A pox upon you. |

Oswalt deal is sounding better and better
|
That was a sick throw.
|
Holy shit, that was a ****ing seed by Yadi.
|
Hey Joles, how about you show back up.
|
What the **** was that shit?
|
Jose Guillen would've beat Pujols to first on that one. What was up with that?
|
|
This shit is interminable.
|
Mike MacDougal! When did you guys sign him?
|
About three weeks ago.
|
Wait, so you'll sub in LaRue, but you won't pinch run for Yadi with a pitcher in the last inning? FML.
|
Anyone know what our schedule looks like the rest of the way?
At this point, I hope we play nothing but solid ballclubs, because we absolutely shit the bed against inferior and average teams, while beating the piss out of good teams. |
Well shit, even though he threw everything right down the middle, you can get away with it if you throw 96.
|
There is no way that Pujols isn't hurt.

Every other team is absolute ass. We have like 12 games against the Pirates and several series against the Astros. |

Unless something dramatic happens, we're likely ****ed. This team has an impressive knack for playing to the level of their competition. |

Which honestly, seeing what he's done since... they were probably right. He was good that one half season for the White Sox after we traded him... and didn't really do much until last year. And last year he did effectively rack up saves... but his K/BB ratio and all that stuff wasn't nearly what it was when he was mowing people down in KC. Never had a problem with stuff though. In 2003 when the Royals were winning he was electric. I remember when the Giants came to town and he closed out one of the games and made Barry Bonds look absolutely foolish at the plate. |
See, if we traded for Haren, we'd have a .360 hitter hitting right here.
|
If you had a kid, could you teach him to have a Dominican accent?
I'd love that. |
beat the Mets mufukas

There's a good blog by Posnanski on him. |
Kansas City has been on the decline since the departure of Willie Aikens.

Ryan Franklin is basically Eddie Harris with less Vagisil and more facial hair.

Must have had a little extra Jalapeno in his nose on that one.

Throw the Vaseline ball.

Cards win, and a frazod coronary is averted.

What a goat**** that was.
At least they got the W. |
not to interlope, but, Philly is coming on strong, I'd bet the farm they'll catch the Braves. MY Braves!

When he's pulling off the ball and smacking worm burners, he hobbles. When it comes to running through an Oquendo stop sign, he'll be busting it as hard as ever. Don't buy it if you don't want to, but like I said, now that you've been alerted to it, you'll notice it more and more. |

FWIW, Simmons did a podcast with Buzz Bissinger recently. They talk about the Cards for a while and 3 Nights in August starting at about 45 minutes. He also briefly mentions the Mulder deal.
|
The Cardinals have done absolutely nothing today. They're not even hitting the ball out of the infield with any regularity.
For a team that specializes in lethargic performances, this one ranks pretty high on the list. Should've expected the knuckle-baller to handcuff them. |
Well, looks like we've got a couple on in the 9th with Albert up. Some late inning heroics would be nice right about now.
And as soon as I type it, Albert flies out to center. FML  I guess one positive is that Hawkworthless only gave up four runs today. :shake: |
And Holliday strikes out looking to end it.
Nice work, guys. 4321 |

Looks like Oswalt is going to Philadelphia, too. What a great ****ing day.

I will not be a happy camper if I miss the Whitey bobblehead and have to watch Suppan pitch. If they're going to give away some stupid stuffed bear (that I won't even get), then the least they can do is throw Wainwright. Oh well, Carp should have a good outing tomorrow. We need it, he knows it. |

I'm not terribly concerned w/ what anyone else in the NL is up to. Oswalt was going to cost us Miller + money that we don't have. So if he's getting dealt to a team we don't have to deal with unless we make the playoffs, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. |

If the forearm surgery was really a fix for Loshe and he returns to 2006 form, thats all we need but thats one helluva a big if. And WTF is up with Freese? Does he know Brittle Croyle? they cousins or something? |
BRC, by now you should know that the Cardinals have the worst doctors and training staff in the league. Do you think it's a coincidence that every single player always ends up hurt for longer than what they were originally scheduled to miss?
As far as Oswalt goes, Miller or not, the Astros are eating half that salary, and he's not requiring the 16 million dollar option get picked up. That's a hell of a discounted rate. But again, as I said earlier, Ed Wade only deals with the Phillies. |
Yanks about to get Berkman

Astros also spun off one of the prospects in the Oswalt trade for Brett Wallace.

Westbrook sucks, but he's the kind of pitcher that Duncan usually does well with.
It's amazing that we've won 2 out of our last three, given that we've scored 2 ****ing runs in the last 32 innings. |
WHAT THE ****!!!???
#Three-way deal. Padres get Ludwick. Cardis get Westbrook and prospect from SDP. Indians get prospects. Pending union OK http://twitter.com/tomkrasovic |
If the Cards do this trade and don't get back an A+ prospect, Mozeliak should be executed on home plate before tonight's first pitch.
Westbrook is owed almost 15 million dollars through 2011, and we're dumping Ludwick to the ****ing Padres, of all places? Why would you make a likely opponent stronger, yourself weaker, and take on more salary? |

Quote:
This isn't even a salary dump. Hell, that, as stupid as it sounds, would almost be defensible. We're taking on salary. |

If we're trading Ryan Ludwick, it needs to be for a #3 starter, not a fringe #4 with a bad elbow and shitty command.
That, or a legit 2B. A Howie Kendrick type. |
Union has approved trade. #Padres get Ludwick. #Cardinals get Westbrook, Padres give up two prospects. |
Jake Westbrook and Nicholas Greenwood for Ryan Ludwick.
Fire Mozeliak now. |
