Right, hindsight, because people haven't been calling out that crap for a month.
It's not just here though, I've talked with a few people who think "it's just not in the cards this year".... well, baseball doesn't give a shit about your inability to accept randomness and the fact that shit doesn't follow the narrative that you've created to string together separate events. And most teams don't sweep their side of the playoff bracket, so a little adversity isn't anything to cry about. |
Ned does incredibly stupid ****ing things at incredibly inopportune times; just like he did yesterday by hanging Madson out to ****ing dry.
And then everything works out perfectly. It's truly staggering. |

We all said it was over and rightly so. Down 4 with 6 outs to go and you've had a whopping 2 or 3 hits through 7 innings? I mean this coming back from 4 runs down in the 8th inning of a post season game happens so much that we are the first team in history to do it twice. Some on here want to play this game of they weren't calling it over or whatever but I think we all know that's BS. |
The Royals are certainly the bizarro Chiefs in the postseason

I didn't think the Royals would win. I actually was kind of Kubler-Ross-ing my way through the game. Denial that it was happening. Anger that their fans were enjoying our demise. Bargaining the we would get a couple runs to make it close. It takes a few unbelievable things to happen just to move on. We got one. It had nothing to do fat and happy. Or Ned's supposed not giving a shit. That's what's so Pete about you. |
Hopefully COMO's thread starting abilities will be removed for a day or 50.

Once again though, let's not lump this shit together... there were the chicken littles doing what they do when the Astros tied it and then were up by one, then those who gave into the thought that they weren't going to get it done once it was 6-2. Two different groups of people, completely different reasons. Anyway, enough of that... looking forward to heading to the K for the first time in a couple months. Hopefully Cueto can hold them down long enough to get a lead, would love nothing more than a repeat of game 3 of the Angels series. Who knows, maybe Morales steals a base. :D |
I've watched the 8th inning 3 times already.

I have all the games from last year, but haven't found anyone doing that this year. |
Its human nature to feel doubt creep in but still hang onto to hope. I had doubt but I hung onto hope. I have seen enough this team this year that 4 runs with 2 outs on then isn't to much. I think many here have been Chiefs fans so long that we are full of doubt. The other side of that lot is nothing like these Royals. These guy have lion hearts and never give in till the final out is recorded. Do you think anyone in that dugout said game over after the lower half of the 7th. Heck I have seen in CP GDT game over calls after 1st inning and a run is recorded against us.

Don't have a good feeling about Wednesday.

We've opened the can of worms with replay in baseball. I still generally like it and think it's a great tool; but that picky bullshit isn't what it should be about. |

We've been conditioned to just accept that sports are pain, and that good things don't ever happen for our teams. Because Chiefs. The Royals have players that feature both dick and balls. And they're just awesome to watch. |
Has anyone seen definite proof of the McCullers throat stab? I have rewatched the 7th till the end and didn't see a anything. Some still in this thread showed his hand up on his neck but looked more like scratching.

Nobody thought the Royals were going to win. Despair wasn't stupid. What was stupid was blaming the situation on players and Yost not giving a shit, being fat and happy, entitled, etc. That's just idiotic. This team plays with more passion and joy than any team I've ever followed. If they lose, they lose.

Also when did this alleged bench ripping by moose occur. It supposedly was so awesome it fired the whole bench up. But watching after 7th the camera panned to our bench and moose was sitting as always and some guys were standing hanging over the railing focused on game.

The next day though, after everyone has cooled off and sobered up, the post-mortem of the season should be more reasonable. (unless it is the very, very rare case where a player or team actually did not care or did give up, in which case you need a hell of a lot of proof, and it should be a really huge story in the national media) |
I'd like to have the royals radio calls for the 7th. If anybody has them I'd appreciate a file.
|
Saw the throat slash in real time, but didn't think too much of it. That kind of shit just doesn't bother me.
Don't want pitchers making that kind of gesture? Well, then ****ing kick their asses in the first place. It's the same logic about "running up the score" in football. **** that. Stop them, but don't whine because you cannot. |
Please tell me that alnorth is starting the game thread tomorrow.

I agree, and McCullers is a pussy for denying that he did it.

If anyone wants a good read, the Royals Review game threads from yesterday are pretty hilarious. I laughed out loud about a dozen times.

Dammit. I'm on a plane. I still have it on my DVR though - I will catch up. I recorded the BJs game right after the Royals game, so my recording happens to start right at the end of the 7th inning. Perfect start.

Nobody is talking about it, but the fact that Madsen limited the damage is a huge deal.
|
he gave up 3 runs ... so I have a hard time giving him credit for anything
hell, he probably shouldn't even face the Blue Jays ... they own him ... and that change up, while nasty, if guessed upon right is a long ball every time |

What is the proper thread to express my extreme pleasure that the tampon birds are going home with shards of glass in their butts?

The Royals are still alive, and the Cardinals are not. This pleases me greatly.

I trust Young and Medlen more than Madsen at this point. I'm not sure why Madsen just automatically gets that spot? |

Do not trust. He came very close to being the goat |

It's like a golfer who hit two balls into the water and sinks a 30 footer for double bogey and one who hits two into the water and then three putts. You don't have to "give him credit" to acknowledge that it was huge in retrospect for them to strand runners at second and third with only one out. |

I was listening to Ryan during the 8th while watching the game. I just remember he quoted Fred White before the inning started. Fantastic! Thanks! |
