If they think he is worth that much...they would have signed him already. |
Look if a 2nd is what Peters is worth at his contract and age no freaking way is Thomas getting a 1st.
|
I was pretty against the idea when I think O city mentioned it a couple of weeks ago. But since then ive seen just how awful our safeties have been. Im also thinking Earl could be our Woodson, he seems pretty ageless.

But there might also be an element of the story about the Legion of Boom defense faction vs Russel Wilson culture war thing they had going on, at play here Carroll may be ready to sweep that old era away no matter how good the guy is... cant have a pro-bowl naysayer shooting you down in the clubhouse |
He has three times as many picks as the entire Chiefs defense combined.

Oh yeah that Russell Wilson division is real. They hate him.
I so wanted the Chiefs to take Russell Wilson instead of Jeff Allen but now Mahomes has changed my mind. I wouldn't want that headache and we got somebody better somehow. |

I notice you didn't mention Dee Ford or Eric Fisher. Marcus Peters, regardless of talent, is a colossal failure by the entire organization. What a waste of a 1st rounder. |

For me, it’s not just Josh Jackson. It’s the fact that instead, we traded UP for Breeland ****ing Speaks |

If the Seahawks wanted Breeland Speaks for Thomas would you trade him? If yes, then you would trade a 2nd round pick. Because that's the dude that Veach is going to use his 2nd on. Worthless, at least as of today. |
I'll take Eric Reid and keep my 1, 2, 2, 3 rounders next year, thanks. oh, and a lawsuit against the league for collusion goes away if he signs a deal. AND-he can kneel all he wants to when the special song plays. The magic sky cloth can freedom without him, no problem.

Unfortunately, sky cloth. |
Reid is a small linebacker
Thomas is a center field turnover causing badass |

or if they are hell bent on a 1st I'd consider a 1st for Thomas and 2nd and a 5th or something. The trade must include a contract extension though. |

Every week that goes by, the price goes down. Keep winning games, keep letting Seattle implode. Eventually, you’ll get him for a fourth. Dallas’ season will be unsalvageable.

Like it matters what any of us think about Eric Reid. He's been effectively blackballed by the NFL. It is what it is.

Eric Reid replacing Terrance Smith would be pretty sick LMAO

I was implying that nobody is giving up a 1st for Thomas...and the only teams that would pick him up at his age/contract demands/position would be a team in contention that has a real need. (Chiefs) I highly doubt ET wants to spend his final years wasting away on a bad team.. I cant see Dallas going that direction...but they are poorly run so who knows. I think Seattle would like to move him out of the NFC too.. Raiders/Donks (random example) aren't going to pay $50 million when they are years away from being truly competitive. |
Quote:
This. All of it. |
Does TJ Ward have anything left? Atleast he would know where to line up unlike Murray
|
Is ET a Chief yet? Chronic redundancy ensues.

The guy that broke the Watkins deal spot on just told me it could be true

I'd do a 2nd and 4th at max. Sign him to an extension and know that this will likely be Eric Berry's final year in KC. You can't have that much tied up at safety and as much as I love EB, he needs to retire and save what is left of his body.
|
I asked him about certain safeties and he was spot on months ago. So we’ll see. There’s a lot of smoke around this. Veach is very aggressive. If Dorsey was at the helm, I’d be more hesitant
|
Here’s another guy saying he heard on Sirius XM that they’re working on a contract.
https://twitter.com/alan_covington/s...677545472?s=21 |
Hell, trade them that stupid ****ing "loudest outdoor stadium" record we hold.
|
I could definitely see KC wanting to get this done quickly. Extra day to prep for Denver. Big game they could win and put a strangle hold on the division

It ain't happening , He's came out and said he practices when he wants to. If he's got a headache or his body doesn't feel like it he's not doing it. I don't think these guys will go for that .

If Thomas is traded and given a new deal he will be a model employee I guarantee it. He'll probably also make some comments about how great it is to be wanted and appreciated.
|
With the way our offense is playing, if we can get one or two plays a game that result in a stopped possession for the other team, that is a huge deal. I’m willing to bet that most of our losses will be less than 7 pts. We don’t need to keep teams at 20 pts or less to win a ton of games. We just need one less scoring possession for opponents from here on out.
Get dirty Dan back and EB in late November for a playoff run. Profit... |

Maybe we can benefit from a situation like that, it equals things out nicely... poetic justice |

The Chiefs are a natural trade partner. Everybody’s in the NFL knows we need help on defense. We have the extra 2nd rounder. We got the money next year to begin paying him as the highest paid Safety in the NFL.
If true, they have already agreed on the draft pick or picks. |

Our corners aren't any worse than the rest of our defense. The problem is our linebackers have been dog shit. Hitchens and Ragland have been definitely below average. Very disappointing. Quite honestly since game 1 - Scandrick has been better than I thought and Fuller hasn't been quite as advertised but still a good corner. Xavier Williams has been a let down. I thought Chris Jones would take a big step forward and that hasn't happened yet. Justin Houston is still the best player on the defense but he hasn't dominated. Dee Ford was probably playing the 2nd best and he's now hurt. Parker and Murray have been below average. Can't blame it all on the CB's, though.
|
Well we are a lot closer to Texas than Seattle is so that's a good compromise right?
