Chamarri (pronounced chuh-MAR-ee) Conner went to Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, winning state titles in his first three seasons. As a true freshman at Virginia Tech, he played in all 13 games off the bench (13 tackles) before taking over the starting nickel spot in 2019, leading the Hokies with 5.5 sacks and adding 68 tackles, 10 for loss, one interception and eight pass breakups. Conner was an honorable mention All-ACC pick as a junior in 2020, pacing his squad with 81 stops (3.5 for loss), intercepting two passes and breaking up four others in 11 starts. He started all 13 games in 2021, again garnering honorable mention all-conference honors (85 tackles, 5.5 for loss with two sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles). Conner started all 11 games in his fifth season (67 tackles, two for loss, two pass breakups). -- by Chad Reuter

They must think their board has been compromised... Or something... With all these trade ups. There's just no need to do that when there's better players still on board that teams are more interested in. I'm happy they got who they wanted, but they need to stop wasting picks.

"wasting picks" lol that is what all those extra picks are for. Moving up for someone you believe in.
It's literally how Veach has drafted so well, it's his thing. I love it, I'm definitely not Team Soren Petro who just wants to throw numbers at the draft because he actually doesn't know who is going to be good. Veach has guys he wants and then goes and gets them. And then whoa Nelly stop me if you've heard this, they help win playoff games immediately and keep the roster budget manageable. |
