The problem may be gone, but underlying problems still exist.
Peters is a loose cannon. Throwing the flag in the stands is inexcusable. But anyone else sick of us getting pushed around? Deep down inside, wasn't it refreshing to see us stand up for ourselves?
Peters going after coaches is unacceptable. But isn't there a part of us that wishes our players would be more vocal about bad coaching? Doesn't Houston ever bitch about his role? If Romo can see obvious scheme gaps, don't our D players feel it? Shouldn't Alex have pushed back on terrible second half scheme? Yet, Sutton never adjusted the scheme. Reid never forced Sutton to change and in fact strongly defended him and blamed problems on player talent. Either the players aren't speaking up, or the coaches aren't listening. Both are worrisome.
And whether we like it or not, this experience sends red flags to any player with attitude or strong outside views that KC is not a place for them. And I'm not crazy about going back to the boy scout route.
He overreacted big time. But isn't there a part of everyone that wishes our players talked more shit and pushed back on dumb coaching decisions instead of just blindly marching into slaughter? I love Houston, DJ and Berry to death, but they are not players who do that.
