That's the thing, we don't even know.

He's never done it, so we don't know what he lacks.

I can't see how that's not a HUGE red flag to anybody that looks at it.

Both statements are silly.

1 guy is comparable to 3 obviously.

It'd be one thing if this was a mid round guy where we were like we think he might be able to rush the passer lets take a chance but top 3 really?

His arms are too short and he has no pass rushing moves, nor any experience rushing the passer. Other than that, nothing.

On paper, he doesn't lack anything. On paper you can see why it may be hard to convert a S to CB. I'm sure teams have a good idea from game tape as to whether or not they think he has the ability to rush or not.

Mecca 04-09-2009 02:11 PM

In reality assuming a guy who had 9 career sacks is going to be a rush backer is pretty ****ing stupid.

It would be different if there was anybody else to pick.

Where are the arm length stats? How do his arms compare to Brown, Cushing, Matthews, or even established 3-4 rushers like some of the guys on the Steelers?

Mecca 04-09-2009 02:12 PM

There are plenty of guys to pick, some of you have just pigeonholed yourselves into Curry cause you're cool with the safe thing or you read a bunch of mocks and went "well everyone has us taking him I'm on board!"

kcbubb 04-09-2009 02:13 PM

this is for ChiefsCountry for neg reppin me for saying that Monroe was rated higher than Sanchez on most boards. I know you love Sanchez but geese. You are setting off my gaydar. You are obviously in love with the guy.

NFLDC

His arms are shorter than every DE/OLB prospect, save three (every DE but two, and longer than Cushing by a 1/4").

Except any shred of proof that he can actually do it. There's just that little thing.

There's plenty of other options. We still don't have any idea what trade scenarios will present themselves.
