I guess I'll have to take your word for it because Jack Harry's in that video and seeing his flat top for more than a few seconds might make me punch my laptop.

I don't overrated him. My stance has always been that he's a solid player. Not pro-bowl quality, but a very solid starter. He just gets UNDERRATED by too many here.

Re Vrabel: It's not your money Dane and he's not breaking the bank so why so much ****ing bitching and moaning about it? 5 million anymore is chump change in the NFL.

THIS is what I watched all season. Hali CONSISTENTLY beat his man, only to have the QB step up into the pocket where there was ZERO PRESSURE, or he rolled to the other side where there was zero pressure. AS good as Derrick was, he had great players around him to help him as well. Hali is in fact best suited as an outside backer in this kind of scheme. However until we find a nose tackle that can collapse the pocket and/or someone who can bring pressure from the other side he'll never be able to "finish" because QB's simply move to that giant area where the center is and no Chief can be found. IT's that simple.

Furthermore, Vrabel wastes a roster spot and likely will play before a younger player. Studebaker may never be a Pro Bowler either, but each and every time he's been the starter, he's been a playmaker.

Finally, re-signing Vrabel does nothing for the youth of this team, nor does it make it more talented.

I strongly disagree with this statement. I dont think he is the guy he once was, and shouldn't be starting, but he does bring a necessary element to a young defense. Veteran leadership is highly underrated, especially if there is a major scheme change.

The things he says to young players in the locker room, in the weight room, etc...Mike may not be a elite player anymore, but he is an elite leader.

Vrabel doesn't attend OTA's. He doesn't attend mini-camps. If he was a TRUE leader in the locker room, he wouldn't miss a session.

Furthermore, he won't be there when the young players and rookies are there, so how can you definte that as "elite leadership"?

I never paid attention to the guy before he became a Chief. Was that just last year or is that his M.O? If that's how he rolls, then it will change my already restrained belief of his limited value to this team...

I DO know however that last offseason, he said it was within his rights set forth in the CBA to sit out mini-camps and OTA's. He stated that the union bargained long and hard for those rights.

Personally, I would be disappointed (but not surprised) if he continued this practice.

Either way, the guy, along with about 8 other guys, should not be starting. If his roster spot is based on his leadership, then he should be at every meeting and workout, if not he should not be wasting a roster spot in my opinion...You lead by example.
