What stands out about Sanchez is how on target nearly every throw is.

His accuracy simply blows Cassel out of the water.

And? Cassel had back-to-back 400-yard games!

LMAO.

Vintage Chiefs.

Maybe. The reason I thought he should have been a mid- to late-first pick was his lack of experience. But if they saw and thought enough of him after the offseason and camp to play him, then I think you have to treat him like what we was, a top-5 draft pick QB. And in that light, I would say that 4 games with 3+ INTs, a season long completion percentage under 54 and a year-end QB rating of 63 has to be seen as a disappointment especially when you consider the fact that he wasn't actually asked to do much but game manage an offense built around running the ball.

And again, I was never anti-Sanchez, I just thought like you he'd need time. But the Jets disagreed when they picked him, and then disagreed again when they started him week 1...

So in the end, maybe you and I were right, but either way, he had a bad, bad year. Which in no way means he can't have better ones down the road.

He was worth the top 5 spot heck he was worth our #3 spot. I would have signed somebody like Garcia or Kitna to fill in this year while he learned or for at least half of it.

Numbers mean jack to me.

It's how you perform in the clutch, and Brady was clutch from the start.

That makes him great in my book.

Brady has been great all along. He'll probably make somebody look really good tomorrow with Welker out. He certainly did it for years before Moss and Welker got there, and he was throwing to guys like Troy Brown and David Patten.

I would prefer that, to ever seeing his golf swing again.

I'll never believe he was worth a top 5 pick, not with a year as a starter heading into the draft. It's always been a stretch for me to even say he should have gone in the 20s. Just too big a gamble. In fact, I think he should have stayed another year at USC.

(And this has nothing to do with Cassel. I didn't want the Chiefs to trade for him in the first place, although I hope to Christ he turns into something, and soon.)

I don't think today is too suprising really - Sanchez played his best in the biggest games at USC.

I'm looking forward to Keenan Thompson doing his Barkley in Charles presence.

If the Patriots are smart they won't change their gameplan one bit. Let the Ravens double Moss and run the Welker plays to Edelman. He won't catch 12 but he'll catch 7 or 8.

The QB position is so crucial that if you think a guy has "it" experience really doesn't factor in. So what if he takes an extra year to develop, which is all you will get by having him stay in college another year. There is no pick too high for a guy you think has "it".

I think if you believe he has franchise potential, you pull the trigger in the top 5, even if you believe he needs time to sit and learn.

It would make me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh if the Jets beat the Colts.

I don't think you can tell whether or not a guy has "it" from one year starting in college. That's my whole point.

I like Sanchez, but the truth is I wouldn't be any more surprised to see him totally flop than I would to see him turn into a franchise player.

I'll give it up to the Jets for having the balls to take a crazy gamble. It'll be great for them if it works out.

tk13 01-09-2010 05:57 PM

Even I think Sanchez is going to be a good QB. But people are talking like he's winning them the game, time to chill out. And he's had a solid game, but their running game, and especially their defense are what has them up front.

They have basically played a very Herm-esque game, they just have the personnel to do it. They're out there running wildcat in 3rd down situations.
