I lived in Highland / worked in Hiawatha so it sucked when I did have to pickup some brew while there. Family lived in MO so on my way back across I'd always stock up on the good stuff.
Found out later that if I was ever stopped, and because of really stupid laws, I could have been prosecuted for transporting across county lines.
I've even heard planes, in the past, while flying over KS couldn't serve liquor or even let you possess it after being served while over other states.
Not sure if the last part is true or not, I wasn't around during the Howard Hughes days.
