Mr Gilberti's in Hollister Missouri. His mom started pizza uno in Chicago. All homemade italian sausage and fresh ingredients from his garden. Amazing. Deep dish.

There's a place in Jefferson City that's pretty good but can't recall its name.

Growing up we had family pizza night on Friday's and watched Dukes of Hazard and the Incredible Hulk. Didn't matter where it came from, it was always the best pizza ever.

Could be. It was the best pizza. Ever. If you dreamed of pizza, and in that dream you ate the best pizza that ever was or ever could be, then this would be that pizza. |
Like Buzz for me the best places were with family or friends. I always remember the smell of moz, pizza dough, sauce and beer at Shakeys Pizza Parlor at SW Blvd and Rainbow in KC. Dad would take us there we would watch the guy hand tossing the dough as we walked in the door. The neon blacklit player piano and rows of tables pushed together. Pizza was pretty good to in the 60s and 70s.
There was a place up the hill from Roaring River State Park in Cassville M0. Me and my buds we would go fishing and camp in the state park after the trout season had ended in winter. It was catch and release then we would set up a tent but most time just throw a foam mat and warm bag down. Eat crap food out of a can then splurge one evening with pizza at this joint I long forgot the name. It tasted like the best pizza ever. |
