I'm not sure who would make sense at 1 then.

Man those 2 would be great additions.

Something we can agree on.

I dunno what Canty will cost, shouldn't be a whole lot, I think Taliban is a pipe dream but after seeing what the ravens wee able to do with flacco I don't really think we should be all too worried about te money side

Sean Smith > Talib

O.city 03-04-2013 10:30 PM

I know nothing about Sean smith at all so ill defer in that one

penbrook 03-04-2013 10:34 PM

Does anyone know how much cap space we currently have after the signings including smith with the 14 mil rollover cap.

Is Jadeveon Clowney still ineligible?

Yeah. This team needs an injection of veteran talent. That's for damn sure.

I couldn't agree more.

It's such empty, lifeless information. I just shake my head, like whaaat?

I don't know about that per say, I don't think talent was as big of a problem as te environment and coaching were. Based on what I've heard the last few weeks I'm surprised we actually arrive to games as a team

O.city 03-04-2013 10:45 PM

I think the new coaching staff and fo make this a plus 4 or 5 win team based on last years talent alone.

His heart issue will turn out to be nothing and the Chiefs replace Dorsey with Star.

If it's not Geno Smith then we have to trade back. All the other QBs suck and that raises Geno's value. Some team or teams will come calling for his services. Then take Milliner to pair with Flowers or the best pass rusher. Werner or Deon Jordan. But really the Chiefs offense could line up and play right now so we could just go ahead and take Geno Smith and develope him by bringing him along slowly.

Smith is the "free agent" acquisition. He's the stop gap. You don't put another stop gap behind him.

Well, you might I guess. Who knows.

1- Did I say I "want?" I implied that's the range in which you are most likely to target a back up QB. Teams don't quit drafting QBs after round 3. But when they do they are most likely looking for backups.

2- I'm aware that there are posturing done in the NFL trade game. The Eagle overvalued Foles because they though Andy is infatuated by him. I think Andy likes Foles' upside very much, but the Chiefs called the Eagles bluff and traded for Smith. Now if Kelly feels Geno is designed for his O and wants to sit ahead of Oakland, he has to accept the Chiefs terms for the Foles compensation. It appears the Chiefs may have won this hand of poker.

3- You may think Alex Smith is "stop gap." I doubt the Chiefs see it that way. I think they have traded for him with every hope that he is at least good for the next 5 or 6 years. It's a "What have you done lately" league and Smith has been very good in the last two years.

I wonder if this will be the first time in NFL history a team actually PASSES on the 1.1.

KC can pass, but at the same time have the next bunch of teams on the phone and ready to make a deal. Get some panic introduced into the other top-five.

That would be the craziest first half an hour or so of any draft in history. That would be great to watch.

I think Justin Hunter is the better pro honestly, he was better pre ACL.

All I've ever heard was he was challenging the rule. Not another thing about it. I'd bet he doesn't win the appeal
