Just a guess, but I don't think the DB acquisitions are completed.
|
I don't think Robinson is the only CB coming in either. On top of that it wouldn't surprise me to see Robinson as the FS and some slot CB.

I hope he gets moved back to FS. Get one of the other schlubs to play SS. |

@davidcanter: Wasn’t a knock on the media. Just meant that the memo has scared teams so no one is leaking/talking. Everything out there isn’t clear

Pound for pound, maybe the biggest hitter in the league. D-Rob will flat knock the dog-dung out of you. I saw him put a hit on a Bronco RB several years ago when he was still in Houston and both players had to be carried off of the field. D-Rob is about 180 (soaking wet), while the Denver back was in the 215-220 range. This guy has no fear.

Abdullah was a pretty solid player before he took time off. Berry at FS Hussain at SS, and Dunta as a nickle corner/FS depth?

Routt was kind of a fancy boy. He was fast, but that's about it. Robinson has value to a defense, even if he's not a lock down CB any more.

Even worse when your pass rush is not consistent enough despite having two badass OLB's. Scheme change to bring more pressure and suddenly the job is easier for the secondary.

I read up to 7 pages because it just became a GoChiefs carousel at that point.
My read, for what it's worth: this team is casting a wide, wide net at CB and seeing who they can scoop up. Listen, we knew this was Andy Reid's jam before he came to KC. The guy traded for Asante Samuel, Dominique Rodgers Cromartie, and signed Nnamdi Asamoah. He places an extremely high premium on corners. He came to this team, and we have exactly three worth a damn under contract: Flowers, Arenas, and Brown. And Brown's shit. So he came to this team with a need at three spots along the corner, and Reid prefers it to the strength of his defense. So think about what happens if the Chiefs land the guy they want in Sean Smith: Brandon Flowers Sean Smith Javier Arenas Dunta Robinson Jalil Brown All of a sudden you have a CB corps with extensive starting experience and safey experience in Smith and Robinson. The side effect is that it would pretty much eliminate CB as a draft need, which is something we should keep in mind going forward... |
Dunta Robinson ****ing Desean Jackson up was brutal.
