This depends on what the chiefs put out as their interest in him. No one is going to trade with a team that they know has no interest in him. Why would they? Even if they arent going to draft him, they better get the word out that HEY THIS IS OUR GUY, HES THE BEST EVER.....

Sweet Daddy Hate 03-19-2013 11:47 PM

Which they are not and have never made a campaign of. Dorsey's first presser killed that RIGHT off the bat. So, anyone with a pea brain on the other side of the table will look at Reid's comment and call bullshit. Nobody is buying it. I'll buy it by reason of insanity because the Chiefs have driven me insane with their never-ending bullshit. Your hero Alex is just another brick in a very large wall. I will never support him nor will I spend another goddamned dollar on this franchise until they draft a first round quarterback. I have no passion for this cluster**** any longer, just sweet delicious hate. And let me tell you; I hate like a ****ing champion. My hate is CEO with a golden parachute-level hate. That's pretty much the only benefit KC football offers via Chiefsplanet: a place I can be a total ****ing asshole so I dont have to take it with me in to the real world. Thanks Clark!( you gutless ****ing one who sucks the penis )

I don't have time to keep up with these outrageous threads...I've just came to the simple conclusion most of you are just complete morons.

Lets say Buffalo offers 8, 40 and next years first and Jacksonville (with new ownership and coaching) still wants him.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them give up next years first to get Geno Smith.

I would. We are rebuilding. That could be the Clowney pick. Or even a top QB next year. Makes zero sense to give that up to move up one spot. We have too many needs and won't be good for 2-3 years min.

fair enough. One respect though. When i am being civil with you, do you have to go with the low blow about alex smith, and being my hero? Hes not. You are lol. But all joking aside, I agree with you. But i will tell you this, the panthers put out very luke warm feelings at best to their interest in Cam Newton, and ended up taking him. I think thats mainly because the players that people really wanted in that draft, were the von millers, the patrick petersons, the aj greens. That is this kind of draft. You have the uber potential of ansah, the board shooters in Floyd, and Milliner, if not for the injury concerns Jarvis Jones. So that could be why they are playing this card.

I dont know. it just doesnt make a whole lot of sense. But, good for them for holding a private workout. They need to comeout of that professing this guy is the next big thing. Even if in their evaluation hes suspect. They better jump on his pennii (just for you)

You're doing it wrong.

The team picking after us is all that matters...actually, the more teams that think we aren't interested in a certain player the better chance of us moving the pick.

If we come out and say Geno is our pick (which he won't be) why would anyone call?

Shrugs. Its called supply and demand. Yeah, they can use the jags leverage against them as well, but, if a team knows you arent taking the guy they want, why would they want to trade with you?

If you are drafting one, and i know you arent taking a qb, and thats what i have to have, why would i call you at all?

i see your point though, them thinking that jax wants him and having to jump over them. Nice game of chess is it not?

Gotta get a quarterback. Gabbert isn't that guy.

I like Geno too...but he's not near the prospect RGIII was coming out. This is laughable.

Washington overpaid to move up for RG3.

Geno isn't RG3 so lets give away the #1 pick instead of shooting for a trade that is in the ballpark of fair.

"You want the most valuable pick in the draft? Since there is no 'elite' talent... just give us your #8 and your 2nd! 3000 for ~1600 seems pretty reasonable, after all."

ROFL This post put the visual in my head of a monkey trying to open it's first banana.

We only have like 24 players under contract. Hence our 30 million in cap that we aren't spending.

Think about that for a second.

When the only goal for you is drafting a 1st round QB, not winning a SB, not fielding a good team, not anything but drafting a 1st round pick no matter what then you are ****ed in the head. You have lost all touch with reality.

Hint: The draft is a means to an end, it is not the end itself.

BossChief 03-20-2013 12:06 AM

If someone wants a qb THIS YEAR, the options are more limited than last year and there are more teams in the top ten that need qbs. Like I said, supply and demand.

Honestly, from what I've seen so far, these guys just say what they mean. There's no "Poker" about them. They'll probably get raped(again)and pull a very flat draft overall.
