Now that I think about I believe you are correct.

It's certainly not new - pete whining about the refs has been going on as long a I can remember. But maybe there are more people whining about it these days.

I do think that there's been a lot more scrutiny of the refs league-wide in recent years, for better or worse.

I legit don't care about the frustration posts. I find them entertaining at times and I engage in my fair share. But holy shit, the constant crying about every flag ever and screeching of 'RIGGED!!!!' is just so tiresome and boring to sift through.

The league being rigged talk really came to the forefront with Brady's career.

It's definitely worse, not just here, but about everywhere you look.

Complaining that outcomes you don’t like were rigged against you has become a very popular way to cope with losing in modern times.

Why the NFL would rig games against its brightest young stars or conspire to keep them down is never explained.

On the other hand the league consistently rigged everything FOR it’s biggest stars in the past like Brady and Manning, to listen to the same lot

When they started selling drama and storylines is a big reason people think it happens.

And also of course the line "nothing is 100% legit when there's this kinda money involved"

My issue is that no statistical analysis has ever shown any evidence of bias at all. I'd guess that 99% of Chiefs fans would say that Brady has benefitted from far more roughing calls over the years than any other QB, yet the numbers show he's middle of the pack in quantity of such calls, if that. If even the most "obvious" examples is clearly not true, it stands to reason that a vast majority of them are BS.

Just like many other things in our world that people think are rigged, you just never see any actual evidence that it exists.
