That game will determine 2/3 seed and potential HFA in the AFCCG.

Ravens win the Division if they win.

Kinda seems like a pretty minor thing from the Chiefs perspective, no?

I think this makes sense from the NFL's perspective. They're not quite sure what to do right now and they hope the play this weekend answers some questions. Before there was a chance the Chiefs lose to the Raiders and then the Bills have nothing to play for/sit some of their starters and that gifts a win to the Patriots. Now all of these teams is incentivized to play at full strength.

We should be pretty happy with this outcome because our Saturday scheduling disadvantage has at least for now been rendered moot.

That's true to an extent although I suspect the Chiefs would like to know before the middle of next week (when presumably a Bills/Bengals continuation could potentially be played) whether actually they have to play a playoff game 3-4 days later. There's a scenario here where Andy Reid is being asked to prepare for a WC game on pretty short notice.

Even if KC loses this Saturday, I still think this game needs to happen as it still affects the seeding of the top 3 teams. Not sure why having the games on Sunday is ok while having it this Wednesday with a Tuesday/Wednesday the week after for Bills/Pats and Bengals/Ravens game is wrong.

So if all 3 (Chiefs, Bengals, Bills) win this weekend they are going to have to restart that game I would imagine the following week. Everyone would then get essentially a bye week then which could be good or bad for us but at least we would get a break.

So reading the memo to teams, they haven't necessarily decided anything regarding this weekend. I read that as no changes as of now. They could still potentially push everything but SB back a week and play just the Bengals/Bills game. Not saying they will

Ravens are currently 1 1/2 games back, so a tie/no contest gives Cincy the division.

There's no right way to do this I guess. I honestly don't know what I expected.

No it's not and I was joking a little bit about the refs but that's going to be the narrative here I'm sure. But it's true that the best narrative is going to be the Bills going all the way for their teammate. If we get the 1 seed that's great but if we end up having to go to Buffalo and beat them let's go do it. We have a team that can do it and then no one can make excuses.

Honestly, our team has been pretty shaky and inconsistent this season. I'm not expecting a Super Bowl appearance. But it will be a shame if the scenario plays out that the Bills beat us on the way to a SB appearance, and the usual window-lickers here turn it into "they rigged it all up against us to promote a feel good story"

Of course they can make excuses. They always do.

They’re going to see if KC loses (doubtful). If so, they make the game a tie.

That also impacts Cincinnati though. Had they beaten Buffalo and KC lost, they get the #1 seed. Making it a tie screws them and still knocks them to the #3 seed. This game need to be played regardless of what KC does.

NFL rulebook is pretty clear on what is SUPPOSED to take place after stopage

Yeah, there's really no good solution. The league decision makers are in an impossible situation. It's not going to be totally fair to everyone.
