He certainly has his warts, but his team is 2-1, and it looks like he found his HC/QB combo.

It's more than Belichick's done, and he's not going anywhere if it stays on track.

I'd still fire him on the principle of him doing the washed up retread QB gimmick three ****ing times in a row, including sending the Eagles a first for ****ing Wentz and helping them jump start the rebuild that's led to our stiffest competition on the NFC side.

He for sure has had more job security than most. He should've been fired before he got a second (or third) chance.

But this one is off to a good start.

I love the guys on CP that are always negative, always laughing at people for being 'homers'.

Fellas, I hate to tell you this:

If you aren't a 'homer' and pretty damned optimistic about The Chiefs after hosting five straight AFCCG's, going to three Super Bowls and winning two, with the best QB that anyone's ever seen, the best offensive mind in football, and a GM that regularly finds quality starters on day three of the draft...

then you're just kind of a dipshit.

the other shoe is not going to fall.

the only way this team isn't a serious contender is if #15 has a season ending injury. Period.

Get over yourself. 'Because Chiefs' doesn't mean the same thing it used to.

These are the golden years, ****ing enjoy them, for ****'s sake.

To be fair here, we know for damn sure that Ballard's team is losing if he has to play the Dolphins and Eagles this far like the Patriots

Yes, so very hard that they were able to keep a rolling dynasty for 20 years (or two separate dynasties, however you want to view it) with a shit GM.

Also John Lynch the "genius" has been gifted 2 or 3 horrible losing seasons to restock through the draft.

In one of them he passed on that bust Patrick Mahomes. In the other he wasn't going to make the same mistake twice and decided to trade out the ass for Trey Lance.

Veach has never been given a pick higher than 29th overall in the first round.

Any asshole GM can take cheap QBs, lose for a few seasons, and accumulate talent. Try sustaining that winning over time.

Same goes for Roseman. Over ****ing rated. Keep winning next time, asshole.

RealSNR 09-28-2023 08:41 PM

The John Lynch 49ers are like Germany from 1880-1945.

Build an empire, very methodical... very impressive... beat the shit out France and Belgium... battle the big guns in Britain for a few years... lose the whole thing by the end of the ****ing war.

Back in the dumps, build back quickly... make foolish decisions... still a powerful force.... oooooohhhh too bad your brokedick QB got hurt, now you lost the whole thing.

It's kind of hilarious, actually. People think that shit is impressive?

How many ****ing times must I explain to you that we're talking about Belichick the GM today and the last several years?

Nobody ****ing said Belichick was this bad for the overwhelming majority of his time with Brady. This is about the last 7 years and or so when the personnel side of his job really fell off a cliff.

It happens. It happened to Andy in Philly too. Teams need real GMs long term.

Also, can you please finally address his drafts for once? Do they not absolutely suck ****ing dick? Do you think we could've afforded to miss like that in the draft and still have 2 SBs with a fantastic roster and a potential dynasty?

It's as if your position is that drafting extremely well hasn't played a role in setting us up to be a dynasty.

And it's not like Veach hasn't clealry been better with free agents the last several years as well. Remember when Belichick went out and spent a gazillion dollars on Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry?

BB's drafted horribly, especially those last 6 or 7 years. But assuming there's Mahomes, Reid, Hill and Kelce, the OTs etc...I reckon there's a good chance we still win a SB and maybe 2 even picking some dross. More of a comment on how good Reid and Mahomes are. I mean who knows, I think definitely the first. The second is harder to feel confident about.

They're also clearly circumventing the cap or pushing hits way into the future, as they somehow have $40 million in cap space after Bosa's extension. Even with a QB making league minimum, that shouldn't be possible with the other contracts on their team.

If they didn't luck their way into Brock Purdy they would be the NY Jets right now.

That team has only struggled to win under Lynch when their QB has gotten hurt for extended periods. Jimmy G tore his ACL early in 2018 and then missed the vast majority of 2020 as well. I won’t blame a GM for that. Jimmy G isn’t known for being an Iron Man or anything, but you just can’t be expected to have two QBs capable of hauling your roster to the postseason year in and year out.

Not to mention, having picks in the top 10 didn’t really help much anyway. He’s had four top 10 picks and missed on two of them. He’s done the bulk of his work in the later rounds. Kittle in the 5th, Warner in the 3rd, Greenlaw in the 5th, Deebo in the 2nd, Hufanga in the 5th, Elijah Mitchell in the 6th, Purdy in the 7th. Not to mention the FAs he’s hit like Trent Williams, CMC, and Charvarius Ward.

His drafts haven’t been great lately.

They would completely different in this scenario though. You’re talking about picking in different spots and different team needs in addition to the benefit of having Reid and Mahomes there to polish any potential turds.

A couple examples are CEH and Hardman. Imagine they were both drafted to the Patriots. They’d look like complete bums. You’d be screenshotting those drafts talking about “he took CEH in the 1st round woo woo woo!”. He would look SO BAD in NE. Yet here he looked serviceable enough to have you riding his dick hoping he could reach his potential for a solid 2 years. Hardman was the best gadget player in the NFL in KC, dude goes to a shitty team and instantly looks like the kind of guy who’ll be out of the league in a year. He’s got 1 catch for 6 yards in 3 games.

Assuming what you say is true and Belichick is truly a bottom 5 GM who has had terrible drafts for the last 7 seasons AND no good FA periods, they’re still a fringe playoff team in a strong conference year in and year out due to BelichickHC alone. You think a HoF HC alone can carry a bottom 5 GM and bottom 5 roster to fringe playoff team status, but a HoF HC with a HoF QB, HoF TE, and HoF talent DT couldn’t possibly find themselves competing for a Lombardi every year?

Are you seriously trying to argue that Belichick would somehow have better looking drafts when picking even later?

LMAO

You're being an absolute clown.

Again, 13 day 1 & 2 picks from 2018-2020 with 2 ****ing hits

Andy and Pat alone aren't covering up that ****ing awful drafting. CEH has been a bust in KC. He'd be a bust in NE. Hardman is a gadget player, he'd be a gadget player in NE.

Is it your position that Andy and Pat are making Humphrey, Bolton, Karlaftis, Danna, McDuffie, Smith, etc. look better than they really are? They'd look like busts or average players in NE?

What a stupid ****ing rebuttal.

Weird how Veach's drafting didn't work like this. His bad drafts were clearly bad. His solid drafts were clearly solid. His great drafts have been clearly great. Andy and Pat aren't changing that, and they wouldn't for Belichick either.
