Let's be honest, the number of talking heads that have permanent scorch marks from picking against the Patriots for the last 20 years is pretty large.

From "they hate their coach" to "Brady has fallen off the cliff" to "the Greatest Show on Turf is going to flatten them" -- it's a LOOONG history of trying to find reasons they will lose, and then looking silly.

Look if KC wins, it's not going to be because of anythign other than KC's ridiculous talent, the advantage of Arrowhead, and KC outplays New England. It won't be because of Brady's cliff or any other silliness. Talking heads are nothing more than talking heads, with many of them not knowing more than you or me.

I hope that whoever wins on Sunday (1) comes out of it healthy, and (2) trounces whoever shows up from the NFC.

Good luck, but may you lose Sunday!!

(I may post in the game day thread. Will see. CP's level of tolerance for my presence can vary greatly depending on circumstances, but this is the AFCCG for Chrissakes, so...

Honest question...hows it when Belichick faces a team in the playoffs he didn't play during the regular season he's 16-1...in rematches he's 12-9.

pugsnotdrugs19 01-18-2019 11:24 AM

I foresee Chris Jones being a game changer in this one given that interior pressure is Brady’s kryptonite. He needs to be.

If Brady can’t step up consistently, he’s going to get hit a ton.

Justin Houston is basically a different player now and he's so disruptive on the outside that it's freeing up Jones.

Plus Jones is just a beast. He manhandled Nelson for a good part of that game last week.

Mahomes has shown the ability to learn from his mistakes and adjust accordingly. The Pats aren't going to be able to run the same shit as last time and assume that he'll make the same mistakes. He won't.

Yep. His game has changed a lot since October.

pugsnotdrugs19 01-18-2019 11:34 AM

I’m expecting BB to do everything he can to limit Kelce and Hill and early on that could mean a huge day from Damien Williams.

Watkins and Robinson as well if they want it

This is where BB’s gameplan becomes a huge factor. Between Sammy and Hill, whoever sees Gilmore will probably have less success... but not necessarily because it might mean they are 1-on-1 often.

If they leave Watkins 1-on-1 with anyone but Gilmore, I expect him to eat early and often.

Belichick threw a great gameplan at Pat and he figured it out in one half. One half! He even had parts of his gameplan figured out in the first half but missed throws.

I can’t foresee Bill outwitting him with 2 months of great experience and more film review.

Even if they do come out and stop us a few times, I feel like it’s only temporary. They can only stop us for so long..

But there's been marked improvement, and I think it's definitely a Super Bowl caliber defense paired with the offense.

The Colts played like dogshit. I honestly expected more fight out of them.

They literally ran at Speaks all game.

All of this.

The nearer the kickoff comes the more I am convinced that we beat the Pats. Besides I want to see the second guy in the barrel. Who bets next against the Chiefs?

It's gonna be a dogfight, bro. As long as they've got Brady, we've got a tiger by the tail. Now, do we have the horses and mules to pull it off? Absolutely.

I think it's actually consistent with his 5-3 SB record (which could be 8-0 or 0-8 -- all coin flips). BB is simply a great coach who has a knack for hiring great coordinators, and gets the most of his teams. Typically, his teams overachieve. Having said all that, there is no BB magic, especially in playoff games that are not at home.

Yea JC was on Mike Williams and Gilly was on Allen.

They ran a lot of slants and incuts on him but overall I thought he did ok (numbers 5-11, 67 yards, two PDs, 0TD).

I wouldn't be surprised if he got turned around but it hasn't happened a lot. JuJu burned him on a play but he recovered and got his hand in as JuJu was hauling it in.

I really don't know what the hell they will do with Hill. Man. Zone. I dunna know.

I think he did that on purpose. He said New England wouldn’t be that strong of a team this year and he is apparently a big fan of Andy.

Would be amazing to break the 142.2 record though.

He runs the timer to make sure Brady open mouth kisses his kid for at least 15 long awkward seconds too.

I heard that too!!

I found this in there as well. Most of these ass hats picked to Chiefs to finish last in the AFC west. ROFL

Tyreek has grown up. Good to see

don't think he's a risk for recidivism

Not sure I ever felt better after a Chiefs loss than I did after the NE game this year.

And it’s because I knew we’d win if they met again.

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

BigRedChief 01-18-2019 03:31 PM

Did you guys know they put down a whole new field this week at Arrowhead? I remember the pearl clutching that the NFL can’t put down a field in a week down in Mexico. That it wouldn’t take hold. The field would be unsafe. True or not?

carcosa 01-18-2019 03:39 PM

when's is it foot ball time?? ?

There's a big difference between and NFL grounds crew with a sod farm specifically growing new grass for Arrowhead in case it's needed and...whatever you'd get in Mexico.

I see no dogfight. Mahomes fails=Pats win. Mahomes fails not=Chiefs win. Brady plays no role. Seems hard for Mahomes. It's harder for Brady.

well it was assumed , they’d bring in their own turf from the USA and American crews and supervisors to put the field down.

It’s the opposite tbh. It will rely on both of our running games

StockingAnarchy12 01-18-2019 04:02 PM

I've been watching tape on Mahomes and am amazed how poised this guy is. I've always found Rodgers overrated in the sense that I don't think Rodgers takes risk at times to protect his stat sheet. I don't see that with Mahomes This guy will be pumped and explosive. Not to mention, you've scored 40 on us three times since 2014.

No offense, but I was never worried come playoff time against you guys when you had Alex Smith. Good guy, but imo wasn't enough to win the big one. Mahomes? He can win Superbowl(S).

Rivaldo 01-18-2019 04:08 PM

Yes, he can.

Transportation of agricultural products across country lines is usually a big no no. Not saying it couldn't happen, but you'd definitely need the Mexican government involved.

StockingAnarchy12 01-18-2019 04:09 PM

Just a stat for you guys to chew on. I've noticed Mahomes Passer rating since losing Hunt has dropped from 117 to 102.

Added to the fact you guys told me he missed passes second half against Indi.

Can anyone explain the drop? I'm not attacking him or anything, but curious how important this is and relevant.

We have a running game again. The Colts game was the best that could happen. It opens all facilities for Mahomes against the Pats. They have to respect our running game. If they do not Tyreek runs for 36 instead of receiving. :D

Rivaldo 01-18-2019 04:12 PM

Not sure, but Hunt may have been a better pass-catching back. Think he had some big receptions. Williams not so much

Plus, watkins was out for a good stretch of the time Hunt has been gonzo

Rain Man 01-18-2019 04:12 PM

I'm reading that Tom Brady has only started three games in temperatures under 20 degrees in his entire career. How is that even possible?
