Interesting, but I don't get it for Utah. They're trading Mitchell away but adding Ayton? What's the point?

Also, is that guy a legit reporter?

Meh, they'd be starting the rebuild/tank with a young big. The Gobert trade would make that much more sense.

BWillie 07-02-2022 05:14 AM

We need a list of all the transactions. This shit is crazy. Moves so fast.

Agreed but I guess we will see. According to Chris Mannix the asking price is 2 All Stars and picks. In order for this deal to happen the Nets will have to move Simmons to get Mitchell. Who would want him at this point?

Quote:

[Mannix] Brooklyn’s asking price, rival executives familiar with the situation told Sports Illustrated, is steep: two All-Star caliber talents and a cache of draft picks

According to Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, the Nets have set a high asking price for Durant, and they don’t seem willing to come down from it.

“Brooklyn’s asking price, rival executives familiar with the situation told Sports Illustrated, is steep: two All-Star caliber talents and a cache of draft picks,” Mannix wrote. “If a team doesn’t have that, one exec said, the response has been ‘well go out and get it.’”

I’m not sure how legit he is, not even certain who he is, but he was all over a possible Durant to Phoenix trade way before any news broke.

Chet with 18 points (4/5 from 3), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks in 13 minutes or so in the first half. Pok just off shooting, but looking really solid at the point forward slot. Giddey has gotten so much stronger. Both Williams looking solid as well and Dieng has as few buckets.

Pitt Gorilla 07-05-2022 08:07 PM

Man, Chet's going to be a tough guard. Dude cruises end to end and pulls for 3 on the routine.

Edit: LOL, some badass tried to take it to the rim for a thunder dunk and chet sent it back.

Chet assist to Giddey for 3. Damn.

That was fun to watch. Chet looked great. He wasn't asked to be a real offensive force at Gonzaga but he was super efficient. Certainly looked the part tonight and Jalen Williams looks to be a proficient scorer.

Thunder may be able to make the playoffs.

PokePoke and Giddey have both taken the next step. It was almost shocking to see how confident Pok looked making plays for others. His shot will fall.

I'm not gonna lie I'm not high on Poku at all. Hes skilled and he looks cool running around but I just dont know if he will ever get the ball in the basket efficiently. Hes young enough to figure it out but it hasn't been a great start for his career.

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren to miss 2022-23 season with foot injury suffered in pro-am basketball game

Sassy Squatch 08-25-2022 09:25 AM

Oof. 7 footer with a Lisfranc? NBA career probably significantly altered before it even really begins

DJ's left nut 08-25-2022 09:32 AM

The Lakers traded the one semi-useful young player they had for yet another aging asshole.

Talen Horton-Tucker for Patrick Beverly.

I am so very glad I pulled the ejection handle on this team when I did. LeBron's signed an extension so they seem to be inclined to double down on just being a pack of hateable mercenaries.

Guess I'll be back in a few years. There's just absolutely zero reason to be interested in this franchise.

dirk digler 08-25-2022 09:40 AM

I imagine after what happened to Chet you can bet every contract will have language in there about not playing non NBA games like what the NFL does.

Yep they are really dumb. They must be trying to piss Russ off by bringing in his arch enemy lol

It just seemed impossible to make them any less likeable. And yet they figured it out.

Might as well go trade for Draymond Green and Grayson Allen while they're at it.

I just don't understand how they can keep doubling down on this. I guess they just don't have much choice.

Since they signed Lebron to a 2 year extension they will keep doing this. For some reason he hates young players and like vets. But you need a good mix and the Lakers just don't have that now.

It's pretty obviously an effort to get THT's salary off the books for next season since Beverly is on an expiring deal.

So they'll have a max slot to go sign 31 yr old Kyrie Irving and just continue the fossil mercenary parade.

ChiefsCountry 08-25-2022 10:10 AM

The rumored next move for the Lakers is Westbrook and picks to Pacers for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. Lots of smoke coming with that one.

They that hard up to get out of the final year of Hield's deal?

Hard to believe ol' buddy is 30 years old already.

I'm guessing LA would have to include at least the '27 first and probably the '29 as well. They just don't seem to give a **** about ever being good again past 2025.

Pacers ready to blow it up and Westbrook has an expiring deal. Really easy to clear a shit ton of cash in a hurry. Either buy him out or let him be the focal point on your tank job without looking like you are tanking.

I have zero idea why these guys are playing pro-am anyway. It's stupid. OKC fans should be mad as hell. I guess there's always tanking for ANOTHER season...

To be fair….that little twig was never making it a full NBA season anyways. OKC fans should have been mad as hell when they announced the pick.

He was old coming out of OU. But that would make him what? 3rd best player on the roster? 2nd if AD is out (who am I kidding, just mark him down as 2nd best).

At least they're looking at dudes that can spread the floor and shoot. Instead of, you know, pairing LeBron with ball dominant dues that can't shoot. Like at all.

Sorry for you as a fan man. I mean, I don't know if it's Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards level bad, but it's bad enough it's not worth discussing.

Sorry bud.

BWillie 08-26-2022 08:32 AM

Disappointing. Chet really has never been hurt before. Yea yea small frame but there is a higher correlation to being overweight and injury prone instead of slender.

But this could be the best case scenario. Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes!

ChiefsCountry 09-01-2022 02:34 PM

Draymond suckering guys in practice, which I guess is no real surprise. The NBA/the Warriors won't be able to avoid punishing him for this one now that the video is out.

BigCatDaddy 10-07-2022 09:27 PM

I'd say a 1 year ban but the Watson 11 game suspension really lowered the bar in professional sports.

Eureka 10-07-2022 10:01 PM

Your boy James will have no chance with the Warriors still sticking around in the WEST.

Seriously though this video looks damming towards Green. I wonder what the context of the conversation is about. That punch is seems shameful just watching it.

LeBron? Shit, the Warriors are the last thing the Lakers have to worry about. They’ll be lucky to go .500 with Russell Westbrook still somehow on that team and starting.

Warriors management tried to sweep it under the rug the past few days, but they didn’t know that video was coming out. He’ll be looking at a sizeable suspension now. Just a total idiot.

DJ's left nut 10-12-2022 09:45 PM

Man.

The Lakers have just made it so very VERY easy for me to continue to stay away from them...

And the Tweet is about Westbrook - but take a look at LeBron there. Just chillin' on the perimeter hoping to run out...

I don't know how anybody actually roots for this team. I hope they lose 60. I mean, they won't, but the fact that they'll be completely irrelevant in the title chase brings me joy anyway.

Well it is a pre-season game and he's 38 years old. He's obviously not going to play defense in it, he barely plays defense in the regular season anymore as it is.

As far as Westbrook, I can't imagine he will even still be on the roster by mid-season. He'll certainly be benched and/or released. I can only assume they are still starting him right now because they're hoping they can sell some other idiot team into taking him on by trade. No other team is anywhere near as stupid as they are though.

So it turns out saying mean things about Kevin Durant will get Draymond a suspension from the Warriors but sucker punching Jordan Poole gets him a fine and a few days off of practice to think things over. I should have known.

Evidently they re-signed Dennis Schroder.

Remember when he turned down $80 million a couple years ago? Well hey, at least he's made almost 1/5 of what he would've made over the last 2 years...

OBJ would be wise to remember that for every Aaron Judge, there's a Dennis Schroeder. And for every Ronald Acuna, there's a Stephen Piscotty.

If you're gonna bet on yourself, you'd best understand the odds...
