That’s a good point. I think it’ll get out at that point. It still doesn’t make sense why the trade is leaked that Peters is a Ram but we don’t know the compensation. That’s stupid. Why even leak that it’s done?

If the Rams leaked or said anything it would be tampering for them but not the Chiefs. They own Peter's rights until March 14th and can back out on the deal before then(so could the Rams).

I don't really get why this is a tampering issue (although I'm not doubting those who say it is). Tampering makes sense in a free agent context when you want the player's home team to have exclusive contact until free agency opens up, but in a case where both teams are involved in a negotiation, that issue isn't a factor because everyone consents to the contact.

I guess it's just another NFL rule that doesn't make sense to me.
