Does spending alot of time in the hot tub have a positive or negative effect on muscle building? I jsut did a set of ketlebell swings and I guess in a few hours I'm gonna have a back spasm. I love my hot tub! I need my hot tub!

You think it's hot when you first get your hands on one but after you sit with it for a few minutes it turns out to be cold and bitter?

That probably didn't come out the way you thought it would when you first ran it through your mind.

aside from hydro-therapy, nothing much, just relax 'em.

LMAO

I'm glad I'm not the only person whose mind goes to the gutter.

So I've got butterfly pork chops laid out for diner. Looks like 190 calories per 4oz serving. These are 6-7 oz chops probably. Approx. 330 calories a chop.

I need to figure out the rest of the meal so I can calculate the calories.

I need to klnow how many calories I should consume. From reading this thread 1500 to 2000 a day for a guy my size to lose weight?

I just found this site http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/co...Calculator.asp and it said I need 4007 calories a day to maintain my current weight. Does that sound right? Sounds high to me.

What did you put for your activity? I put moderate activity and it says 4200 calories. I'm going to call bullshit. If I ate 4200 calories a day....I'd be gaining weight....not maintaining weight.

Try Livestrong.com. It has a similar format, but gives me a WAY different answer. It also gives you the option to enter sedentary lifestyle and then add the actual exercises & activities to give you a more accurate calculation.

Whew!

Just got back from the Gym.

Spent about 40 minutes on a stationary bike and sweated my ass off. I decided to do some light weightlifting, but just on the machines, not free weights. I remember an old personal trainer from like 10 years ago saying that if you did faster reps at a lower weight it helps your cardio and helps weight loss. Not sure if thats true, but thats what I did.

2 reps of 10 @ 50 lbs on the seated chest press
1 rep of 10 @ 65 lbs on the same machine

Then I did 3 reps of the inclined chest press (10, 10, 8) @ 30 lbs. That was difficult for me even at the low weight.

Then I did 3 reps of 10 @ 40 lbs on the arm curl machine. Easy peezy lemon squeezy.

Anyways I feel good, but also feel lackadaisical. I'm fairly certain thats my lack of carbs lately.

Just broke a 41-hour fast with a post-workout protein shake. I guess technically I won't make it the three days but I'm gonna fast the rest of today and tomorrow, too. Pretty close.
