Surprised that everyone's killing CEH for a mediocre night without acknowledging that Williams was goddamn terrible.

It's insane we don't have one guy we can count on to grind out 3-4 yard runs when we need to. What's unsaid is that we absolutely needed Damien Williams to do just that to beat the Titans in the AFCCG.

It doesn't feel like we're asking a lot here, yet...

We really are an enigma on offense this year. As stated numerous times, we're a completely different team after the first drive. It's so strange to watch.

And I feel like the only time we run the ball is on a down and distance that doesn't make sense or interrupts whatever passing momentum we have. The whole "who's calling the plays" debate might or might not be a bunch of bullshit. I do wonder what our offense would look like if we let Pat call all the plays ROFL Think we'd ever run the ball?!

Either way...what a freaking win. Will be nice to have the extra days to rest and get some of these Covid situations worked out.

We aren't an enigma.

Most of the problems are caused by Patrick missing a throw - he did, 2-3 times tonight, on 3rd or 4th down.

Or, drops, or turnovers.

Execution.

This game just highlights our need for another receiver even more. Pringle is okay, Hardman has fizzled hard and Robinson is terrible.

Offense will open up so much with another legit weapon

They were gassed early in the 4th, i think. Sand Diego ran the ball about 40 times by then. And they sent a lot of double teams at them on those runs.

I mean the line was AWFUL tonight. Are we all on the same page there, at least? I'm not sure how anyone has any success with the line working like it did this evening.

I was just really frustrated by Williams on a couple of short-yardage plays and then Reid stubbornly giving him the ball on 1st down a couple of times. He had the goal-line run where he stuttered at the line for no reason and then when he gets to the line from a yard out and our 'power back' got stood straight up 1v1.

Sometimes he’s a little much, but I love Mitch Holthus.

I don't know where/how to find it, but I'd be really curious what his yards above expected where tonight.

I just don't feel like CEH left many yards on the field tonight. I mean he damn sure didn't steal any either, but the line was getting mauled at the point of contact.

He nailed that call.

He's hit or miss these days, but top shelf Holthus is still elite as they come.

Thuney and Creed have been money all season. Tonight they struggled

Which confuses me about our line more than anything. Like what is the disconnect here between our new line and getting consistent yardage in the trenches? Is that where we're seeing their newness or youth? It's just one of the more bewildering parts of the year.

The Franchise 12-16-2021 11:57 PM

The Chargers do have a good defensive line too.
