We need to resign Sammy Watkins for his lizard powers. Those just got a lot more OP apparently.

chiefs made out OK

we just need the bengals to beat the bills in the postseason and all is right with the world

They are making the best of a bad situation. There is no way forward without the gnashing of teeth and people being super mad on the internet.

Looking forward to having this stuff nailed down and looking forward to beating the Raiders. Go Chiefs.

It's one thing to think this isn't a big deal.

It's another to pretend it isn't bullshit either way.

It's both. Even if someone argues this is only a minor impact on the Chiefs, changing the rules like this to help one team is unprecedented.

This? They continued with the game.

Serious head/neck injuries are near death injuries… the next time that inevitably happens during a football game you are okay with a team being able to tap out without the consequence of a forfeit?

What is the standard now for how disturbing a sight needs to be to get a “no contest”? Does an Alex Smith type injury get you a no contest? A Ryan Shazier or a Dennis Byrd type injury?

Bills aren't making it to the Championship game with no coverage safeties left.

If they do, tip your cap to them.

Yeah. This is a pretty extreme case. I can't remember the last time a player was injured and no-one knew if he was going to survive.

I know it happened in the 70s and they played the rest of the game but that seems pretty cruel in this day and age.

So there's at least one owner probably saying no.

Also this sets a precedent… don’t feel like finishing a game because of “emotional distress”? Your team is not punished with a forfeit and instead the league will bend over backwards to accommodate.

So in the future if a team feels like they cannot continue with a game after a serious injury to a player… no consequences apparently.

What a joke.

How many times has a player nearly died on a football field?
