See the other thread if you can't understand this extraordinarily simple premise.

I saw it. Can't help to be a little hostile after losing your NFL starting job. Still doesn't trumph his effort for blocking his running back 30 yards down the field to help his team. TWICE!

ROFL

He's a fake nice guy, who has almost never taken responsibility for his failures, including in his latest press beatdown.

He thinks his shit doesn't stink. **** him.

Hey I wished and hoped he was awesome...I wanted to see some playoff football...

I guess I'll be waiting a while longer with the rest of you douche bags eh?

Its not like rooting against him wouldve helped with the boredom and absolute apathy I have for football this season...

My season still ended when yours did (and yours ended when mine did)

We are still Kin, my brother

The Merril Hoge/Ron Jaworski cluster**** on ESPN after the Winston fiasco just shows how wrapped up the media is in this stupid notion that Cassel is a nice guy. Jaworski said something like, "Matt Cassel is a guy who helped to rebuild an entire city of Chiefs fans in Joplin after those awful tornados, and this is how the fans treat him? This is not the Kansas City I knew when I played there"

If he's so valuable to the people of Joplin, then he should ****ing get a job with Habitat for Humanity. That might actually be something he's GOOD at doing. Instead he's our starting QB.

THAT was 100% sickening to ME as a fan when Jaws said that. Is he actually suggesting that an athlete who likely feels obliged to help people out because the rest of the team is doing it (let's be honest, during the lockout he wasn't exactly doing anything else) is a great guy? He could have gotten vocal and spearheaded the whole rescue Joplin thing, but that wasn't him. That was all Todd Haley. Cassel just followed.

So how do we express our intense disappointment, Jaws? It came down to that. We don't want a ****ing carpenter as our starting QB. We've been saying that for years, and management wasn't ****ing listening. Well, now we forced the issue and look what happened! No more ****ing Cassel. Ain't that grand?

We shouldn't demean Cassel's efforts to assist the people of Joplin. That was a good thing.

But the fact of the matter is that Cassel's charitable efforts are in no way related to his play on the field. They are two separate things. There is zero correlation between the two. And, if Jaws had his facts correct, he would have known that the cheers were horribly overblown and misrepresented by Winston's moronic grandstanding.

I'm very disappointed in Jaws, to be honest. I thought he was a man of integrity, but it turns out he's just another ratings whore like most of them. Sad.

Cassel is a good guy. He tries hard, he practices hard, he plays hard. He just sucks as a QB but I have never doubted his heart or effort. He never should have been a starting QB and it isn't his fault that he was. I will knock Cassel's talent but I won't knock his effort in trying to become something he isn't and will never be.

NO HE'S ****ING NOT

I've said all along that the guy is a giant dick and a jerk, but nobody believed me. He's got the face of America, and his improbable storybook rise to NFL starting QB could practically be a Disney movie. People want to like him, so they say things like, "I don't think he's a good QB, but he's a selfless team leader who works hard. Perfect teammate. The right kind of guy you want as your starting QB."

A good guy who sucks would say the right things. He'd endear and entrench himself into the hearts of the fans. Think Boomer Grigsby. Fans ****ing loved that guy even though he sucked saggy octogenarian titties. He played into the underdog role like a champ. Cassel waltzed into KC and was like, "Oh, I'm the starting QB? Uh, yeah. That's cuz I'm awesome! Maybe if enough of my greatness rubs off on my teammates, we'll improve and win some games."

I'd buy Cassel a beer. Seems like a good dude. I know a lot of guys like that. None of which I want as a starting QB on any team I care about.

He doesn't come close to blocking like Trent.
