Don't you work for a CPA firm?

I did for about 8 years. I left to go work for one of our clients and then started my own practice. I recently partnered with a guy I graduated college with.

I wish I could take 6 months off each year like Newchief's friend, but I must be doing something wrong. Probably too much gym time.

I see. Why don't you run the taxes through your partnership?

Ah. I still work for the client I went to work for. That's my "real job." The partnership is the side deal.

****ING PARS DEFECT. ****.

Spine got ****ed on a light DL. It slipped and I couldn't bail out in time to keep it from straining my back muscles.

:sigh: Another week off. At least.

It's why I don't go heavy with anything other than dumbbells at this point. Try to maintain absolute strict form versus weight.

Seems to work better at this point.

It honestly has nothing to do with form. I had to stop doing back squats because of it before. Looks like deadlifts may be next.

Mine is a problem where the bone "hooks" of the spine that lock together never formed into bone. It's just cartilage on one side of a vertebrae that is locking my lower spine into place. The problem is that when the spine is put under tension, it relies on the bone structure of the spine to maintain alignment. Because part of my spine never calcified into bone, the cartilage isn't strong enough to keep it from slipping. So, my lower back muscles have to take over if it slips out and they just aren't built to prevent that from happening. All of that = pain.

I switched to front squats and split squats because it put far less weight on my back. Deadlifts may have to go now. It wasn't even a heavy DL. It was only 275. The first two reps were fine and clean, but it just let go on the third one.

My injury was absolutely due to poor form. :(

I'll remember that if I ever get to do a push-up again.
